IT WAS THE VERY NEXT morning, December 29th, when another reply had came from Artemis, cementing the late afternoon plans to meet within Diagon Alley with her daughter. True to their word, both Rebecca and Fred had stayed a bit late into the morning, just lying in bed and within each other's comforts. They did eat breakfast with everyone, the mere sight of the raven-haired girl within the basement kitchen seemed to have most the household smiling again. Then they had returned to their room, sharing fleeting kisses and fond caresses in the comforting silence and rising sun and blue skies.
Then the time hit noon, and the anxiety was setting in. And while Rebecca was happily spending a great portion of the day with the twins, it was the time after that she was only slightly dreading. There'd be no buffer between her and Artemis, no one else to account for within their conversation – and it scared the crap out of her. Unfortunately, even while she had assured her mother that the meet would be kept a secret, Rebecca had a terrible time lying to Remus Lupin. The man saw right through her fib, though he was still smiling reassuringly – of course, he was also concerned and worried but he'd never voice that to her.
So he was going to help the trio escape the confines of 12 Grimmauld Place. Remus would be the one to alert them the moment Molly was attending to Arthur and his injuries, and when Mad-Eye and Sirius left for their meeting with Dumbledore.
Fred had walked into the room from his own, fidgeting with a crimson tie before he was faltering in spotting his girlfriend sat on the very edge of the bed and nervously chewing her thumbnail – mostly likely overthinking and close to succumbing to her fears.
"It's going to be 1 soon," He informed her slowly, letting his hands fall back down to his sides as he neared her seated figure, plopping down to sit on the mattress right beside her, "are you ready?"
"I can't stop thinking that this is a bad idea," Rebecca admitted meekly, running her clammy hands down the outer seam of her jeans, "o-or that she'll end up being disappointed in me."
He watched her reach up to tie his tie with shaky hands, "why are you thinking that?" He questioned with a flight frown, letting her fix the knot around his neck, "what's she got to be disappointed in?"
"I have no idea," She muttered wearily, "but my brain has decided to shoot out any and all possible outcomes all at once."
"Well, tell your brain to shut up," He insisted, taking her hand in his and lacing their fingers before he brought their joint hands up to his lips to place a peck to her bent fingers, "you're by far the best person on this planet – and that's not me just being completely biased because I love you."
