and loves when I bleed,
it locks all the doors and then hides all the keys,
wish someone had told me what I couldn't see,
a glimmer of hope that was staring at me ❞

WHEN THE FLASH OF WHITE finally settled, their eyes focusing, and they all gained their bearings once more, Rebecca found herself letting out a sharp breath of utter relief. The sight before her had made her chest falter slightly before swelling up with hope. A member of The Order unknowingly stood behind each of the Death Eaters; Kingsley, Tonks, Mad-Eye Moody; all of them. Upon seeing the curling smile on the Ravenclaw's face – having spotted her father causally strolling up behind the former Slytherin – Lucius Malfoy turned around to meet the glare of the younger man.
"Get away from my kids." Sirius spat out darkly, using his non-wand hand and punching Lucius across the face; the blond man collapsing to the ground in a heap.
The prophecy had rolled out of Lucius' limp hand, and Rebecca was quickly diving for it. She held it tightly in her hands, eyeing it curiously before she was smashing it to the ground herself. It shattered beautifully onto the hard stone and was left with wafting white wisps into the air with a whisper. Her eyes glazed over momentarily, the voice whispering to her and echoing her ears before fading to nothing. Quickly, all Hell broke loose within the dark room.
In a panic, Rebecca grabbed the back of Harry's robes and tugged him down and out of the way of a rogue curse. Lights in various colours flew from each side of the room, corner to corner, and whizzing over their heads and passed their ears. All the teens took cover once they escaped their captors, sending their own hexes and jinxes towards the Death Eaters to catch them off-guard. Sirius lurched forward, blasting a man to nothing but white ash before he scampered over to the two teens crouched down by the archway. He flashed them both a small smile, his heart pounding in his chest as they both watched him in utter relief.
"Listen to me," Sirius panted, quickly glancing over their hiding spot to shoot a hex out before ducking down again, "take the others and get out of here."
"What?" Harry questioned incredulously, rapidly beginning to shake his head, "No, I'm staying with you."
"We're not going anywhere." Rebecca nodded her agreement, keeping watch of his turned back and sending out curses as best she could from her seated position.
"You've all done beautifully," Sirius smiled briefly, reaching over to squeeze Harry's shoulder gently before doing the same to his daughter, carefully running a thumb over her cheek before shaking his head, "let us take it from here – get back to Hogwarts – you'll be safe there."
Both teens went to retort, rapidly shaking their heads. Sirius only shushed them, very fatherly as he scolded them – sending out another hex towards the incoming Death Eater. His eyes suddenly widened, his gaze stuck dumbly towards the thin figure running up behind his daughter. Though, her gaze was trained behind him instead, her mouth opened to warn him of Lucius Malfoy's sudden presence. Harry beat her to it, jumping up and shielding Sirius' back – making the man turn abruptly to help fight off the two gangly men that neared.
