EVERYTHING WAS SILENT. The clock had only just gone past midnight, and the time slowly continuing on with gentle sound of the minutes ticking away. The entire flat was dark and quiet, save for the tiny book light that hovered above Rebecca's head as she silently read. Her back was pressed up against the wooden headboard, wide awake as the seconds ticked by and time was lost to the turn of a page. One hand held up the novel she barely held her gaze to as her other lazily ran its way through Fred's hair, seeking comfort. His head rested atop her abdomen, arms draped loosely around her hips and breaths slow and steady with every rise and fall of his chest.
Then there was a sudden rattling coming from the bedside table. So sudden and breaking the comforting silence that Rebecca jolted in her spot and felt her head snap to the side so harshly that her neck gave a slight crack of protest. She eyed the wooden table, straining her ears slightly against the sounds of Fred's breathing before she reached over and tugged at the drawer. The rattling grew louder once it was opened, whatever was moving was shuffling all the contents of the drawer with it. Rebecca quickly scooted herself out from under Fred, paying him no mind even as he stirred, beginning to frantically rummage through the drawer.
"What...what is it?" He murmured drowsily, his eyes barely cracking open a slit.
Rebecca didn't manage him an answer, her fingers wrapping around a familiar piece of metal. The rattling had stopped as soon as she grasped the DA coin, but the fake galleon was still hot to the touch. Immediately, she felt her heart drop, the small letters along the edge of the coin spelling out a simple four letter word. 'HELP.'
"Somethings happened," She stated hoarsely, tossing the coin at Fred before she was bending down and hastily forcing her feet into a pair of shoes, "a-at Hogwarts – something's wrong –"
Fred grasped the galleon, peering down at it for a split moment before he too was suddenly pulling himself up and out of bed. Rebecca grabbed her wand from beneath her pillow, holding it tightly before she ducked out of their room. Much to her relief, George was already exiting his room as well, him too, holding another one of the fake galleons between his fingers and looking just as worried as they crossed paths.
"We have to go to The Burrow," He stated at once, his voice grave and raspy, rubbing harshly at his bleary eyes as he blindly moved towards the den and grabbed the baby bag from it's place, "Mum and Dad will know what's going on – they'll be one of the firsts to know."
Rebecca only managed a hasty nod in return, chewing at her bottom lip nervously as her anticipation and anxiety ate away at her bones. At the touch to her elbow, one that gently pulled her hand from her mouth to stop the beginning of nervous chewing at her thumbnail – her gaze shifted to Fred who appeared at her side suddenly. He didn't say a word, mainly because he wasn't sure what to say – they both knew that Sirius and Remus were patrolling Hogwarts that very same night alongside both Bill and Tonks. Fred remained silent, doing his best to look reassuring before he tugged one of the jumpers he held over her head.
