THE REMAINING DAYS OF October had unfortunately gone by in a quick blink of an eye. It should've been a joyful time, celebrating the fact that Fred and Rebecca had made it to two years together – but after everything that had happened in the days leading up to it, the day had passed like just any other. There was a kiss in the morning, some words of happiness, but it was only followed by a day full of running through lists of chores and seeing to legal paperwork all while the twins and Scarlett manned the shop, and then just another kiss goodnight. And perhaps it was only the nearing full moon that got her emotions heightened – and more prone to mood swings – but the fact that Fred hadn't said more than a couple of words to her had left a sour taste in Rebecca's mouth.

But of course, her wants and desires were nothing compared to the events of late. The Order had finally allowed Roan, Violet, and Adam to leave their sights – after a week or so within Grimmauld Place – and had set-up a safe house for them. Sirius, who still wouldn't let his guard down or get over himself, had even chaperoned the family back to their old home where they packed up their lives, before he was guiding them to their new one. No doubt, the family would have a trusted eye to watch over them. The Order had gone as far as bringing Violet's parents into the home as well, for a 'just in case' sort of precaution.

Long before naught, thankfully quicker than expected, November too fell had into the past and December sparked the slightest bit of hope and joy. Harry, Ron, Ginny, and Hermione would all be returning home from Hogwarts, meaning they'd be back and amongst everyone else and safe. Especially after hearing that Katie Bell was cursed in Hogsmeade and Severus Snape was installed as the newest Defense Against the Dark Arts professor – to which, brought numerous questions, more so, why had Dumbledore even allowed the trips to the village to continue, and why he would place a former Death-Eater in such a precarious position. All in all, the holiday was welcomed with wide arms.

"Are you really getting drunk in the bath right now?"

Rebecca's bleary gaze flickered up from her pruning fingers that grasped the half-empty bottle of Firewhiskey and over to where Fred leaned against the bathroom's doorframe, "All in the holiday spirit, darling," She uttered sarcastically, tilting the glass in his direction as if to toast the admittance before connecting it to her lips and taking a drink.

"You've been in here for quite some time now." Fred informed her quietly, taking a few steps further into the bathroom to plop himself down on the rim of the bath.

"It's not like I have another place to be," She murmured in turn, sinking a bit further down into the lukewarm water so it touched her chin, "it's nice in here though," She insisted midst another drink and a wistful sigh escaping her mouth, "just me...a drink...the bubbly water."
