it locks all the doors and then hides all the keys,
wish someone had told me what I couldn't see,
a glimmer of hope that was staring at me ❞

SURE ENOUGH, WHEN SATURDAY had finally rolled around, just as the clock struck 10:21am, Fred Weasley appeared on the nearest apparition point to the Lupin household. Since the cottage had been made unplottable on both muggle and magical maps – by use of the Fidelius Charm, which was another precaution Dumbledore had set up – he was to walk another half-mile or so until he was able to reach the descending hillside where the quaint little house sat amongst the thick, green trees. Luckily for him, the walk felt a lot shorter than it did the first time he made the trek with Remus and Sirius, and he neared the front porch in what seemed to be a matter of minutes.
Stepping up the three short stairs of the wrap-around porch, and after lightly yanking on the collar of his shirt – a sudden, odd sense of nerves had coated his bones. Fred paused with a fist in the air, having been ready to knock upon the door, and suddenly found himself blinking blankly at the wooden plank before him. It took a moment for him to gain some bearings, clearing his throat quietly and adjusting his hold on the bouquet of wildflowers. Giving himself an eye roll, he knocked upon the door exactly twice before taking a slight step back. There was some shuffling from inside the house, no doubt one of three wizards took to standing on the other side with their wand lofted and pointed to the shut door in precaution.
"Who is it?" Lyall's voice rang out simply, his light footsteps nearing the door.
"Fred Weasley," The ginger replied swiftly, slowly rocking back and forth on his heels as his fingers resumed a nervous fiddling with the hem of his button-down shirt, "– sir."
"Fred, my boy, great to see you again," The elder wizard was quick to tug the door wide open, flashing a smile as he stepped to the side to let the teen in, "it's been a bit, I hope all is well."
"Yessir," Fred nodded, taking the outstretched hand into his own to shake a greeting as he was prompted to before stepping inside, "give it another two weeks or so, and the shop will be celebrating it's grand opening – right in time for the new term."
"Good thinking," Lyall hummed an approval, nodding, "Diagon Alley will no doubt be crawling with customers, especially all those younguns who like a bit of mischief, scampering around for their school supplies and such – I'm sure all will go just swimmingly."
"...and you're sure you've got everything?"
Both Fred and Lyall peered up towards the staircase at the sudden voice, the former giving an immediate smile at the sight of his girlfriend descending the steps with a taped up cardboard box in her hands. Both Remus and Sirius were following after her, the latter being the one to pester her and list off a bunch of miscellaneous objects that 'alreadyshould've been packed'.
"I'm sure I've got everything," Rebecca let out a short breath, reassuring him – for what was probably the billionth time – nodding continuously as she rolled her eyes behind her father's back, "and should I have forgotten something, you can always just send it to me – or just leave it for when I visit."
