THE NOTICES HAD GONE UP all across the bulletin boards around the school practically overnight, cementing the fact that Dolores Jane Umbridge had succeeded Albus Dumbledore as the new Headmistress of Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. As morning broke, and as each of the students took towards the Great Hall for breakfast – that very fact was presented over and over again as they passed each hallway that had been plastered with the parchment versions of the official decree. Tales of what had happened echoed across the school, rumors of what happened within the Headmaster's office being twisted and spun every which way.

Upon reaching the Great Hall for lunch, it seemed that everybody took notice that the new Headmistress had decided to keep her newly acquired office to eat on her own – meaning that numerous of students went back to sitting amongst their friends within different houses. Shuffling over to where the Golden Trio sat, walking alongside the seventh year Gryffindor girls that she found herself living with now; Rebecca took the empty spot on Harry's right side. The three youngest were looking elsewhere – so she found herself following their gazes, eyes now set on the giant hourglasses that recorded the House points.

"Noticed, have you?" Fred's voice chimed up suddenly, his presence standing right behind his girlfriend as he gently set his hands atop her shoulders.

George stood at his side, already glowering at the sight of the emptying hourglass of rubies – a constant flow of gems from every house but Slytherin moving back up and into the top bulb.

"Malfoy just docked us all about fifty points." Harry uttered in distaste, his eyes narrowed furiously as more and more stones flew upward from the Gryffindor hourglass.

"Yeah, Montague tried to do that same to us during break." George stated, finally tearing his eyes from the hourglasses to snag a sandwich from the towering platter in front of Alicia.

"What d'you mean 'tried'?" Ron questioned quickly, his eyebrows furrowed as he peered up.

"He never managed to get all the words out," Fred informed them all nonchalantly, taking a hearty sip of pumpkin juice before shrugging lazily, "due to the fact that we forced him headfirst into that cabinet on the first floor."

"Do you mean that broken Vanishing Cabinet?" Rebecca gave a slight grimace, shifting in her seat to look up at him, mindlessly taking back the half-empty glass from his outstretched hand.

Fred merely nodded, flashing a sheepish smile as Hermione let out a hoarse, surprised gasp, "But you'll get into terrible trouble!"

"Not until Montague reappears –" George shrugged, waving at the sight of his incoming girlfriend who walked in alongside Cedric, "and that could take weeks – we don't know where we've sent him."
