IT HAD FELT AS IF AN ENTIRE week had passed since Roan was taken, even if in reality, it was only shy of three full days. The entire weekend, left to wandering thoughts. The Order were finally good on making some connections between their own spies and intelligence, beginning to pinpoint a scatter of locations and just who might've taken him. Rebecca knew better than them – not that any of them would care to admit it – and her gut feeling knew they'd find all the answers, and Roan, back at the Carrow house. She knew both Alecto and Amycus would be in on the kidnapping together, either by themselves or alongside others – they were the ones to organize it all.
Rebecca had tried not to think too much on Roan's potential last moments – whether or not he'd coming back, or what should happen to both Violet and Adam if he doesn't. She'd try to push any negative thoughts out of her head, keeping her focus to the positives. She had even tried to make time – between wallowing moments – to introduce and get to know Violet. Just like Roan had wanted. But even then, by the look on Violet's face, she couldn't help but to be thinking of the exact same things. Both young women remaining silent in their worries, mustering up the best smiles they could down to the nearing-three year old who was trying to build a tower with the Weasley kids' old toys.
By Molly's reluctant kindness – and more so, because of The Order's hesitation in letting them leave – the mother and son were still at The Burrow while waiting on news of Roan. Usually, Rebecca would ask to spend time with Adam as Violet spent the time getting some much needed sleep. And seeing as she couldn't really sleep herself, Rebecca happily took every chance she could to get-to-know her nephew. Even if it meant not speaking at all with the child and instead, playing with the multi-coloured blocks on the ground until he found something far more interesting to take his attention away.
"Adam," Violet called quietly from the doorway of the twins' room, making both Rebecca and Adam whip their heads up and falter in their building, "it's time for bed, c'mon," She insisted softly, holding out a hand.
Rebecca couldn't help but to glance at the nearest window, slightly taken back at the sudden time change, "We can always play more tomorrow," She assured the toddler quietly when she turned back, flashing a reassuring smile at his growing frown, "and I'll see what more I can find in the attic for you."
"Story, Mumma?" Adam was quick to help shovel all the blocks back into the sack, scampering up to his feet and nearing his mum, lifting his arms up in a silent plead to be carried.
"Sure," Violet whispered, mustering up a weak smile as she bent to scoop him up and hold him to her hip, "and maybe tomorrow we can go and see Grandma as well."
"You're leaving?" Rebecca questioned hesitantly, quickly getting up to her feet.
"It's to be almost four full days now," The woman uttered defeatedly, licking her lips before pursing them to smother the sudden tremble, "I hate it as much as you do, trust me – but I-I can't just stay here forever – we'll – we'll just go stay at my mum's for a time..."
