❝ a darkness that holds me,
and loves when I bleed,
it locks all the doors and then hides all the keys,
wish someone had told me what I couldn't see,
a glimmer of hope that was staring at me ❞

SEATED WITHIN HOG'S HEAD, everybody's gaze slowly began to shift towards the Hufflepuff who had staggered to stand. Cedric Diggory shifted in his seat before rising to his feet, his face set both nervously and firmly. His hands were shaking profusely as his eyes shifted around the room towards the on-lookers. Rebecca turned in her seat slightly, gently taking ahold of his hand to give it an encouraging squeeze. The words falling from Harry's mouth faded abruptly, his eyes also trained on the Hufflepuff, he too, giving an encouraging smile and small nod before he was taking his own seat again to give Cedric the floor.
"You all can call us liars," Cedric voice wavered slightly as he swallowed thickly, "you can choose not to believe us – but I can assure you, you'll be sorry," He did a meek scan of curious gazes trained at himself, "I saw V-Voldemort – Harry saw him too – he fought him on his own."
"You don't have to believe us, but at least know that we would never lie to our families about something like this," His hand squeezed Rebecca's gently, as if trying to ground himself as he continued, "we know our words and truths don't just effect us – but it's not just about us anymore."
"If you do believe us, and if you do want to be prepared – for anything – you should stay," Cedric's voice got firm, his chin setting slightly, "because you know that here – amongst everyone here – you will learn to protect yourself. I shouldn't be standing here, not after what happened," He spared a subtle glance downward to the Ravenclaw seated right in front of him, her hand tightly in his, "– but yet, here I am anyways. Given another chance – and I'm staying."
"And I dunno about the rest of you, but I'm done playing pretend and thinking that everything is alright by listening to the rubbish The Ministry publishes in the papers."
Cedric quickly returned to his seat with the silence after his words, releasing a shaky breath as his eyes screwed up tightly for a moment. Rebecca squeezed his hand another time in a silent support, flashing him a supportive smile and giving him a small nod once he pulled his eyes open. The group was left to ponder the Hufflepuff's words, few of them murmuring between themselves and sharing looks or nods. With a small throat clearing from Hermione, everybody turned forward once again, watching expectingly as she pulled forth a scroll of parchment and a pen.
"So now – we're just in need of a place to set up, and a teacher...or two –" She began, eyeing each of them.
"But who is going to be able to teach us?" Neville chimed up quietly, his eyebrows furrowing, "– we're all still just students with no true experience."
"Well, not all of us." Ginny interjected from her seat between two Ravenclaws, motioning over towards Harry.
Harry immediately gave the ginger a panicked look, his eyes shifting towards Hermione as if to silently protest her words with his eyes wide.
