ADRIENNE SAMSON HAD FELT as if she had been waiting her entire life for this very moment. Almost immediately following after the events leading up to the Battle of the Department of Mysteries, all she could think of was the coming of this day. When the letter first arrived – the night prior, but she had actually opened it the following morning – she would be lying to say she didn't immediately want to burst out into tears. The sight of the slightly crinkled parchment was enough for her breath to hitch in the back of her throat, her fingers stalling at the sight of familiar and long-past handwriting. The swirl on the 'A' and the connection of the double 'N' in her name – it nearly reduced her into a puddle of nostalgia. The former Gryffindor was quick to escape to her room within the Diggory household, unfolding the short letter.

Adrie, it's been far too long since i've been able to see your face, or to hear your annoyingly contagious laugh. i miss you and Ced so much. and im finally taking back some control of my life. please come by as soon as you can, you know where to find me.

Almost immediately, Adrienne was stumbling over her own feet and scampering her way towards Cedric's room just down the hall from her own. It was still fairly early in the morning, but she paid the time no heed as she took quick steps into the bedroom door that had been left open ajar. She practically tossed herself inside, running right at Cedric's lying figure on the bed and quickly launching her body at his own. With a sudden jolt at the impact, the former Hufflepuff shot up in a panic. Though, at the sight of a frazzled Adrienne, he only groaned aloud and tossed himself back into the blankets once he pushed her weight off of himself.

"Get up!" Adrienne protested, shaking at his bare shoulders and bouncing on her knees atop the mattress, "we have important things to do!"

Cedric only snorted into his pillow, "I don't classify stalking Angelina Johnson at work as important–"

"It wasn't stalking!" She immediately corrected him, a frown curling her lips downward, "I was already at St.Mungo's so it's just a coincidence and I only happened to take notice of what department she was working in that day because I was checking in on Katie."

"It was stalking," He retorted midst a sleepy scoff, tucking his arms further beneath his blankets and pillows with another groan, "you didn't say a word to her the entire time, and just watched creepily from afar!"

"I don't see why you can't just send her a letter and get to explaining yourse–"

"Cedric, this isn't about my horrible love life –"

"– isn't it always?"

"Diggory!" Adrienne let out an exasperated breath, crossing her arms tightly over her chest, "Shut up for five seconds in your life and get up!" She shoved at his shoulder again before stealing his pillow, "I promise you, you'll love this surprise."
