ONCE THE CLASS WAS dismissed at the sounds of the bell tower chiming overhead, Rebecca was to remain in her seat. Umbridge stood before the emptying classroom, her eyes watching the silent, younger witch closely. Reluctantly, and quite stubbornly, the Ravenclaw held her tongue and kept her hardened gaze forward, her thumbnail digging into her forefinger to keep her focus. Even with the urge of defiance to go against her own boyfriend's words as he exited the classroom, she sat and waited for Harry to show up before even beginning to rise from her seat. The bespectacled boy held seemed to hold a scowl as well, though, it faltered at the sight of his godfather's daughter standing before him.
"Come along," Dolores stated shortly, watching as both dark haired teens exchanged a silent look, "make it snappy – I haven't all day."
Begrudgingly, both Harry and Rebecca followed after Umbridge, their steps stubborn and shuffled as if they were being tugged by an invisible rope by the woman. Getting to her office door, in the far corner, the Ravenclaw couldn't help but miss the usual Dark creature's tank or cage or even the record player in the corner from when Remus was their professor. The office looked like it was doused in pink – all the way to the walls and down to the plush carpet. Each surface had at least five lacy covers and cloths covering them, several vases of dried, crusty flowers and numerous pictures of various cat breeds lining the office walls.
Rebecca could practically feel her nose begin to itch and tingle at the mere glance of the feline portraits, a grimace spreading across her lips in disgust as they all 'meowed' behind their glass prisons. With a quick wave of Dolores' wand, a second desk appeared right next to the first, just under the large windowsill, and a piece of yellowy parchment was waiting on top of each of the desks for them.
"You – here," Umbridge gave a gesture towards Rebecca before pointing out the seat she was to take, then to Harry and did the same motion on the opposite side, "you – there."
And as much as they both had wanted to purposely switch seats, just to spite her, they shuffled slowly and dropped themselves down into their respective seats. Blood pumping and surging angrily through their veins at her twisting smile as she stood above them.
"There," The woman said softly, her voice back to being girlish and wispy, "we're both getting better at controlling our tempers already, aren't we?" Her smile widened a bit more as they scowled at her sickening sarcastic tone, "now then, you are going to be doing some lines for me – oh no – not with your quills."
Both teens halted their movement for their materials, faltering in reaching for their book bags before flicking their gazes back upward to watch her round her desk holding two identical black quills before setting one down on the tables before each of them.
