THE NEW YEAR HAD PASSED rather quickly and without much more fuss – and thankfully with no more attempts of the Ministry to try and gain Harry as a mascot, nor a peep spoken about the truth of Rebecca's livelihood was spoken to the press or aloud. Just a few days after the holiday, Harry, Ron, and Ginny all lined up at the hearth within The Burrow to return to Hogwarts. And, as many times as she'd insist that they'd be fine for an hour or so, and that she had actually wanted to accompany Scarlett to the topsy-turvy house for once – at least to see the teenagers off with well-wishes – Rebecca was quickly denied the chance to say her goodbyes. With Scrimageour's acknowledge of her wellbeing, The Order didn't want to push their luck and she was back to being on house-arrest – for a lack of better terms.

While the twins had taken to working down in the shop for most of the day – taking turns in the office to try and brew up some more inventions – Scarlette had taken to overseeing the new hoard of multi-coloured Pygmy Puff babies that were going to be up for adoption soon. Now, in the flat alone, once more, Rebecca had half a mind to try and escape to the Lupin household. She knew that Remus would be out trying to recruit werewolves to The Order – on Dumbledore's orders, of course – and Sirius, still newly acquitted and antsy, was keeping watch over muggle neighborhoods with Mrs.Figg; but she could do with a riveting chat with Lyall Lupin.

Though, of course, as soon as she was to try and get a word down to either of the twins downstairs, already dressed and ready for a quick escape and a quicker apparition – there was a sharp tap to the far window. Rebecca faltered in tugging on her coat, releasing the first button and peering around the corner of the archway into the kitchen. There, on the outside windowsill, sat a sleek, black owl. It sat with such elegance that it brought a bundle of deeply-rooted nerves into her stomach the longer she watched it. Against her better judgement, and with a smothered sigh, Rebecca slowly neared the window and unlatched the the door a fraction to allow the bird entry.

Only it didn't hop inside. It just dropped a tightly-wound, miniature scroll from its sharp beak and immediately took off back into the gloomy sky of Diagon Alley.

"He obviously has better things to do," She murmured aloud sarcastically, quickly taking the scroll and re-latching the window before promptly moving away from the glass.

Rebecca almost instantly felt uneasy at the sight of the scroll in her hand, the moment her eyes were casted down to it, had her faltering again and reliving the last few weeks. There was no doubt in her mind that it was from Narcissa Malfoy. It looked almost identical to the one that was shoved in Scarlett's hand – the one she never read because it was quickly taken by Fred and handed over to The Order. And she knew better than to keep things from them, but they hadn't even let her peek a single look at the writing on the scroll the last time. She just had to take their word for it. So, with a silent prayer, she was quickly unravelling the red string from around the scroll then smoothing out the surprisingly long stretch of parchment.
