Tᴇɴ Yᴇᴀʀs Lᴀᴛᴇʀ
"Regulus, come down," Cassiopeia called out while preparing breakfast. "Don't let me repeat, boy."
Tom knew his playful son had probably done something. He heard Merope chattering nonstop about something. Meanwhile, he was reading the newspaper to catch up on new updates.
"Coming!" his son shrieked, coming downstairs. "Mum?"
Regulus entered the kitchen as Merope's nonstop chat stopped. Tom was curious to know what they had done this time. All the time, the twins had something to bicker about, and when Merope was annoyed by her brother, she went to her mum.
Tom leaned in the doorway of the kitchen, seeing his children sitting at the table. His angel had a big spoon in her hand, looking at both of them back and forth.
"Mind explaining why your sister had a bottle of spiders on the bed?" Cassiopeia mimicked just like Snape, raising her brow. "How many times have I told you that she's scared of spiders, Regulus?"
The boy looked at his sister, smirking. This boy was a copy of Tom Riddle. He opened his palm, extending another spider, making Merope scream.
"Petrificus Totalus," Cassie muttered under her breath, pointing her wand from her apron, giving a slight knock on the boy's head with her wooden spoon. "Don't you dare scare your sister like that. Look... she's crying. Don't you have a heart, Regulus?"
The boy pressed his lips together, looking at Merope, who hugged her mum, almost crying. Cassiopeia rubbed her back soothingly.
Even though these two were only eight, sometimes their behavior was much braver than other kids. Regulus Braxton Raven and Merope Lola Raven were the names they were given, remembering both of their grandparents and Braxton Lestrange, Tom's only true friend, and Cassiopeia's one and only brother.
Tom looked at Regulus, who was regretting his actions. He was glad he could read their minds, so he could see what bothered them all the time. Even though Regulus acted like him, his appearance was as attractive as Cassiopeia's. Tan skin, blue irises, and jet-black hair were really attractive enough to have girls chasing after him one day.
Merope inherited Tom's curly black hair and dark brown eyes with pale skin. She was pretty too, and Tom knew she had a good brother to look after her when they arrived at Hogwarts, which would come in time.
"Oh, baby girl, don't cry," Cassiopeia knelt down as their daughter hugged her mother, crying on her shoulder. "Spiders don't harm you, okay?"
Tom cleared his throat, looking at Regulus. The boy looked at him, and Tom tilted his head toward the girl. Regulus got the point quickly and approached his crying sister.
"Lolly!!" He called, tapping the crying girl's back, who shook her head and nudged her head on their mum's shoulder. "I—I'm sorry."
"See, darling," Cassiopeia tried to pull the small figure from her. "Forgive your brother. He won't do something like that again, right, Regulus?"
The boy whined silently, knowing he wouldn't have fun again annoying his sister. Tom chuckled, seeing how these kids were stubborn. He was pretty sure the stubbornness they inherited was from their mother, of course.
Cassiopeia gave him a death glare as he stopped whining. He tapped Merope's shoulder once again.
"I won't do it again," Regulus spoke, but she didn't look at him. "Uhmmm... I promise you that I won't do it again."
The girl stopped crying and wiped her red cheeks with the back of her hand. She turned to her brother, extending her small hand to make a promise.
"Promise?" Her innocent eyes shone with happiness.
"Promise," the brother promised, taking her and leaving the kitchen, leaving Tom with his queen. Cassiopeia was smiling, looking their way, and she turned around to continue her cooking. Honestly, even though she didn't use magic to cook, she had magical hands that could feed all three of them with delicious meals. Everything about her was perfect to Tom Riddle.
"Angel," Tom wrapped his arms around Cassiopeia from behind, planting a soft kiss on the crook of her neck.
She crooned and turned around, and Tom pecked the tip of her nose as she giggled. She was still the girl he had fallen for years ago. Her adorable smile and perfect features had never faded.
Was it only for him? Of course, he wanted to be the only one who admired and loved her deeply, apart from their children.
"You have to wait ten minutes, love," she said, placing the spoon aside and wrapping her arms around his neck. "Hungry?"
"Not for breakfast, of course," Tom smirked as she playfully hit his chest, but the blush tinting her soft cheeks couldn't be concealed. "You're a perfect mom."
"So are you," she said, tilting her head to the side and smiling. "You're a perfect dad, darling."
Even though he called her his angel, he felt that she was a goddess who had given birth to their two angels. He still remembered the day she held their twin babies in her arms at St. Mungo's. That day, he had seen how a mother looked at her children.
She mirrored his own mother, whom he had never seen. He knew his mother might have looked at him the same way Cassiopeia looked at their twin angels, even though his father had abandoned him.
At first, he couldn't believe that he was the father of two children. It was a wonderful feeling, knowing that he had two little angels with his bloodline. He had no words to express the happiness that overwhelmed his heart.
"It's because of you," Tom admitted, pulling Cassiopeia into a passionate kiss.
It was just as it had always been. Her soft lips made him melt and surrendered to her, his fingers tangled in her hair, arousing erotic sensations within him.
She captured his upper lip, sucking it gently, letting him occupy her lower lip. Without her, he didn't know what would have become of his life. She had brought light to his life greater than the sunshine that illuminated the whole wide world.
His wet lips traced a path along her jawline and neck, drawing sweet moans from her soft lips. Even though they were no longer teenagers, it never excused him from wanting to touch her. He couldn't fathom how she made him feel so blessed, as no one else could.
Cassiopeia had completed his imperfect life, transforming a serial killer into a loving boyfriend, husband, and father. She had made him a responsible man, never giving up on him. She was the only one who had accepted him when the whole world hated him for his crimes.
She had mended his damaged soul and helped him find a better life in the second chance he had been given. She was his angel, his goddess, his woman, his wife, his lifeguard, and his lifeline. And he knew that no one could ever replace her in his heart.
Because she was the Dark Lord's angel.
