"Yeah?"

"Yeah."

That day kept playing over and over in her head.

Every time she remembered walking in on an absolute angel dancing around her house, her cheeks rose.

Every time she thought about the words coming from Clarke, the words she swore she must have misheard- the "I like you"- her face turned so red and so warm that anyone else seeing her would think she were sick.

Every time she thought about how lips pressed against hers- how she memorized how they felt. Tasted. The way they sent her whole body to shivers. How they made her heat up all over. How they made her chest fill up with air. How they made her heart beat so strongly that she felt it echo throughout her ribs.

Every time she played back their conversations in her head-

Specifically the last one.

"Make it a date."

She felt the butterflies reemerging in her stomach every time. She felt a stupid grin spreading across her face without permission. She felt her legs dancing around, bouncing up and down in joy.

Because somehow she got so lucky. Somehow all that happened, happened. Somehow she actually won a ticket to heaven. She was going on a date with Clarke Griffen.

She was going on a date with Clarke Griffen.

She was going on a date with Clarke.

...

OH MY GOD, SHE WAS GOING ON A DATE WITH CLARKE!

AND IT WAS TOMORROW!

IT WAS TOMORROW AND SHE DIDN'T PLAN ANYTHING!!

...

"God, you look like you just went from seeing the gate to heaven, straight to Satan himself."

"AAAH!" Lexa jumped out of her seat and flailed her arms around in hopes of finding anything to grasp onto before she could fall to the floor.

"Geez, you're back for one day and you're already a jumpy mess." Anya took the papers she held pressed against her chest and placed them on her sister's desk. "Maybe, it wasn't such a bright idea letting you come back so early. We should've made you stay and home and rest a bit longer."

"What?! No!" Lexa cleared her throat in hopes of calming down and settling her voice, "No- no, I'm fine really."

She half expected Anya to pry into her, knowing God well her red face was giving everything away. But she didn't. Instead, her sister sat down and gave her a sympathetic look. She reached out to stroke Lexa's hand. "Hey. I know you love to be at work all the time, but really, I know the past few days have been a lot. If you don't think you're up for work just yet, that's perfectly fine."

Wait, what?  Was Anya talking about her stroke? I mean- it definitely took a toll on her- and Anya knew that- but Lexa really assumed it was obvious her spark of panic was because of Clarke. She could've sworn her wide grin would've given it away.

I mean- when did she ever smile so much for anything else?

...

When did she ever else smile?

Whatever caused her so much joy if not the thought of Clarke?

Whatever made her happy before she knew her?

...

Was the only thing she ever looked forward to before meeting Clarke really her job? Well- she did love her job, but for it to be the main thing- the only thing- waking her up every morning???
