Lexa once again found herself impatiently tapping her pen against her desk instead of enjoying her lunch break. It's been a few weeks since her date with Clarke and the only other interaction they had was whenever they would accidentally bump into each other at the cafe (which Lexa may have been going to more often for that sole reason now) or the few times she dropped Aden off at Clarke's house.
There was no mention of another date.
And after considering the fact that their first date was really planned by Clarke, she questioned if that meant it was up to her to ask for a second one.
Which felt wrong.
Because she asked her and it was supposed to be up to Clarke to decide whether she wanted a second. Because it felt off to ask twice in a row. Because she was starting to question if Clarke even considered a second date as a possibility. Or if she fucked up too much already.
She looked up from her papers and glanced questioning eyes towards her sister at the other side of the table.
...
"Anya?"
"Hm?" She looked up from her work.
"Is four weeks too long after a date?"
Her sister looked at her with a completely lost look. Which made sense, considering she barely said a sentence.
"As in, to ask for another?"
This definitely caught her sister's attention, as Anya now completely disregarded her work, in turn, lending Lexa a massive smirk along with furrowed brows. "You've waited that long to ask her out again?"
As usual, Lexa regretted mentioning anything to her sister- cheeks turning red from humiliation. "I- I didn't ask again."
"Lexa!"
"I thought if she would've wanted to, she would've asked! But then she never mentioned anything... And I don't know, I was hoping to plan the first date so that it would be up to her if she wanted another, but I guess it kind of ended as her date, so now I'm just lost..." She stared at the floor.
"...Lexa."
"I know. It sounds stupid." She could feel her skin growing warmer and warmer, embarrassed that something this simple qualified as a problem, so much so that she had to confront her sister about it. "I just- I don't really know how the whole date thing works." It sounded so silly. She sounded like a child. "And I don't want to screw it up. I don't know if I already did."
Anya had a testing smile on her face. "You're scared she'll reject you, aren't you?"
"I... I guess, yeah."
Her sister chuckled softly, clearly more confident in Lexa than Lexa herself (probably because of her insight from Raven). "Then give her an offer she can't refuse."
"What do you mean?"
Anya rolled her eyes at her sister's occasional cluelessness, setting her papers completely aside and getting comfortable in her chair. "What does she like?"
"Huh?"
"As in hobbies, preferences, anything really."
"Um..." Lexa thought, realizing she really didn't know Clarke as well as she felt she did. Maybe that's why Clarke was so... Clarke. She just felt familiar and comfortable, even without knowing her.
Well, she had to know something. 'Think Lexa, damn it.'
"She likes tea."
"Um... okay..." Anya waited for more.
