Running from one class to the next, from tutoring sessions to her other side job at the cafe, Clarke hadn't had a second to check her phone now filled with notifications. Only halfway through her shift did she have some time to check her phone during her lunch break.

She scrolled through her phone, sitting by one of the empty benches outside of the building.

'Thank goodness for the cafe being relatively quite today' she thought to herself. While the check definitely wasn't, the one plus side of working at a smaller cafe rather than corporate owned Starbucks'  was definitely the peace and quiet.

Opening up her messages, she scrolled past all the spam texts and checked if her friends planned another hangout this week, only to scroll by an unread message from a particular brunette sent 4 hours ago.

Hey. Are you free later tonight?

Clarke read the text and smiled. Perhaps she wasn't so busy tonight.

A certain blonde arrived home later than usual with a cheeky smile plastered along her face that night and Madi definitely noticed. She stood up, pushing her work aside and approached Clarke.

"Good afternoon Clarke" she gave her a knowing look from across the hall.

"Hey Madi-bear. It's past 12, why aren't you asleep yet?"

"Project. It's past 12, why aren't YOU asleep yet?" she smirked.

A yawn escape Clarke's mouth as she fought back a smile. "Don't worry I will be soon enough."

The blonde took her shoes off and entered the kitchen to grab a yogurt.

"Soo.. You're not going to talk about how incredible a certain rich CEO of Polis Inc is to me today?" Madi remarked. She knew Clarke wasn't actually invested in some hookup- that it took her more than just sex to actually like someone- but it was still fun to tease her and watch her face heat up.

Blood rushed to Clarke's cheeks. "Madi!"

Perhaps Clarke did talk about the brunette too often. She never really payed attention, but maybe she has been bothering her straight daughter too much with the appearance of some random attractive woman.

But could you blame her? Someone who looked so bold, dominant (and HOT) shied away around her like the sweetest little puppy. And her eyes were so piercing and memorising that Clarke could talk about them all day. Even magazine papers didn't do enough justice to what the girl looked like in real life!

"No I will not, thankyou very much." She scoffed, closing the fridge. "Besides, like I've already told you a plethora of times, there's nothing to it." And it was true. Clarke was still to heartbroken over Finn to even think about someone in that way.

"Yeah okay. Can I stay after school to hang out with friends tomorrow?" Madi used Clarke's good mood as an opportunity to get a yes as an answer.

"Hmm?" Clarke seemed caught off guard by the sudden- half expected- change of topic. "Which who and where?"

"Aden's invited me and a few friends over to his place cause he got a new game." Of course, Madi failed to mention her crush would also be there.

Clarke sat for a second, thinking, getting her mind off her day and trying to remember all of Madi's friends. "Oh Aden as in Aden Aden."

"Yes as in the Aden that came over Clarke."

"Yeah sure, he's a sweet boy." Clarke yawned. "Wow I really must be tired if I can't even remember names."

The fifteen year old grinned. "You remember one that's for sure."

"MADI GRIFFEN!" Clarke's ears grew red in embarrassment at the remark. "Go to your room now!"

Days like this really make the blonde regret telling Madi about her job. If she could take it back, she would. Because she expected Madi to be grossed out when Clarke mentioned it (which was reasonable, and she was glad Madi was understanding that it was for the money), not for Madi to tease her with stupid comments about some girl.

But she knew he had to tell Madi where she was- even if it meant dumb remarks about her... fondness of a customer, because if anything happened to Madi, she would know where to get her or know how long to expect till her arrival.

Madi grabbed her things and started heading out, still happy to take a jab at Clarke who so often mocked her everytime she mentioned a crush to her.

"You're just mad because I'm right~"

"And you're about to regret your dirty humor miss! Don't make me take back letting you hang out tomorrow!"

Madi let out a peep, deciding maybe it was time to zip it and leave bothering Clarke for another time, escaping to her room.

Clarke let out a sigh, sitting on the couch with her yogurt in hand, trying to collect herself after all the little rascal said. She didn't know what was up with her. Why she decided to pester her about this one girl. Was it just because she was rich or that it was the only person she could actually look up and see herself?

'Whatever' The blonde furrowed her brows. 'It was just another hookup with a particularly hot girl. There's nothing else too it.' Or at least there shouldn't be... After all it was just Clarke's job. It wasn't her fault she was actually attracted to who she was fucking for once. And unlike Madi, she knew sexual attraction meant nothing.

She couldn't help but smile to herself though. Not just at the thought of seeing or feeling the brunette again, but hearing her timid yet oh so enthralling voice in their small talk after-sex conversations about random nothings (because of course it was against policy to talk about work which was Lexa's whole non personal life, and Clarke sure as hell wasn't comfortable talking about her personal life to a complete stranger- hot as she may be).
