Despite her complete lack of trust that Lexa's idea of "casual" was actually casual, Clarke decided against an over-glammed look. Instead, she scurried through her closet, pulling out some jeans and a sweater- enough to not get cold.

She felt the breeze threaten to freeze over her naked body and damp hair, hurrying to put on some layers.

She shouldn't have waited until the last minute to shower.

She should've planned some clothes ahead of time or actually asked Lexa where they were going.

She should've, but she didn't.

Instead, she totally rushed from the hospital last minute, straight into her bathroom, and coming out like a wet dog, not even properly drying herself despite the towels begging her to. Instead, she totally forgot about the mascara she had on, which was now dripping down her face.

At least she was in too much of a hurry to have time to panic.

Clarke rushed back into the bathroom to grab her makeup and hairdryer, hoping to somehow turn herself from the swamp monster she was now to some sort of presentable.

'Oh, to be as flawless as Lexa and not rely on makeup to look pretty.'

...

"Madi!"

A voice hummed in response from the other room, too focused on work to give a proper response.

"I'm heading out in a bit! I don't know when I'll be back. Be good."

"Alright, have fun!"

"And call me if you need anything!"

"I won't-"

"Madi!"

"Need anything. Let me finish a sentence."

Clarke rolled her eyes, heading towards Madi's room before stopping at the door. "Really. Just text me."

"I will. Don't worry." The girl turned from her desk to flash Clarke a conforming smile. One that quickly turned into a mischievous grin. "Have fun making out with my friend's aunt."

At this point, Clarke had grown too used to her daughter's teases. "Have fun doing your calc homework on your own for the next week."

Madi's eyes opened wide. "Wait, no! I take it back! I take it back!"

*Ding Dong*

Clarke chuckled at the coincidental timing, shrugging and turning away from Madi's room. "Well look at the time, guess I'm off to go to my 'make-out session'."

"Wait! You gotta help me with math! Please!"

God, she loved sweet revenge. Even if that revenge is just a lie. "Bye!"

"You're evil!!"

Clarke held in her laugh, grabbing her things and heading towards the door, hearing the last of Madi's whines before escaping.

...

A gorgeous figure stood waiting for her on the other side.

"You're evil, huh?" Lexa smiled. "Is this my warning?"

This time she couldn't hold back the laughter. "Oh, so very evil. I won't help you with your calculus homework either."

"Well, I'm glad math was my strong suit then." the girl smirked.

"I bet everything was your strong suit."

A hint of pink flashed across Lexa's face. Because, well, maybe that was true. Almost.
