After another week of sour faces and only work related conversations from Lexa, Anya gave up on trying to figure out what caused the girl to be so happy that day. Perhaps she did simply wake up feeling relaxed.

Anya definitely knew one thing however. Her sister was back to stressing all week and it was up to her to once again pull her away from her work.

"Lexa."

"What- hm?"

"It's 8 pm. Stop working already."

"Just go. I'm not holding you here."

"I already did! Three hours ago!"

Lexa looked up in confusion.

"What? Then why are you here?"

"To get your sorry ass away from you papers."

"Anya, I can manage myself-"

"Lexa we do this every other week."

"And you always end up giving up every week. Why do you keep coming back?"

"Because you never leave!"

"Yes I do. Just because I work longer shifts doesn't mean I live here."

"You practically do. The only time you get out is when we visit uncle Titus. And that's only because you spend the night before working, and catching up on sleep while I drive."

Lexa closed her tired eyes and released a long, frustrated sigh before turning sternly to her sister.

"What do you want me to do Anya."

"Live a little."

"I am living. I don't see my tombstone anywhere around."

"Lexa. I don't know how many times I have to keep telling you, the companies not going to come crashing down if you take a break for a week or two."

"..It almost did last time."

"That was pure chance! No one expected the stocks to fall so drastically because of the Azgeda scam. It was out of the blue-"

"No. I knew Nia had her opinions on the new policy, but I didn't handle it, and because of it we lost 12 million in one day."

"It wasn't your fault. It's not your job to-"

"Keep my company running? Yes it kinda is."

Anya raised her hands to her face and let them slowly slide down, staring at her sister in concern.

"Why must the universe hate me. Why did I get such a foolishly stubborn sister."

"..."

She got no reply as the CEO neglected the comment.

"You're just always so upset. And I know you know you are. Because you think everyone depends on you and no one can do anything themselves." She sighed to herself before continuing. "Lexa please. The only time I saw you smile at work was a week ago."

Lexa continued to pretend she was ignoring the girl.

"That's five years. Five years Lexa. Five years and I haven't seen anything other then a frown or a stern face."

Anya slouched down until she was sitting on the floor, staring off into the neatly arranged bookshelves. She was a very controlled person, but her sister and her family always got to her head. She felt her eyes water.

She always tried her best to be there for her sister. To cheer her up. But ever since their parents death, Lexa just seemed to grow up way too fast- faster than her sister. She stopped enjoying so many of the little things in life and focused everything on what she could control- which was very helpful when Polis Inc was just starting- but drained everything out of the girl.

After what felt like forever, Anya finally stood back up and put her hands down on Lexa's desk.

"Fine. You don't trust anyone else to do anything, but do u at least trust me?"

"Of course I do. What kind of question is that? You've been helping me since the start of Polis Inc." She looked up at the girl. "Plus your my sister, I know your not stupid."

Grabbing the papers straight from the brunettes hand, Anya replied "Great. Then let me finish it."

"Anya I'm not going to make you work for me."

"And you think I'm going to let you work for me?"

"What?"

"This is just as much my company as it is yours Lexa. If you're so stubborn then I guess I have to stay here and finish this so you don't."

"Anya, you have a family! You can't just stay here and-"

"You have a family too Lexa. I am your family." She took a deep breath before staring at Lexa in concern. "And whether you like it or not, you're my little sister and therefore my responsibility."

Lexa stood in silence. Her sister never just told her no. She's always just tried to help, even when Lexa sweater she didn't need it. Besides, she was a grown adult; she could make her own choices- hell she's been managing herself for longer than Anya.

"I'm not a kid. I can manage myself, thanks."

"Well you sure act like one."

"No I do not!"

Anya simply ignored the fit of rage coming from her sister, reading the papers before her. She's let her sister off her guard for too long and if she had to power through all these files to get her to leave, so be it.

Stubborn as always, and guilty for causing her sister to do her work, Lexa tried to grab the papers back. But Anya didn't let her. She kept her hands firmly on the pages, not letting them escape her grasp.

Still keeping her head down facing the papers, Anya's eyes traveled to meet Lexa's. And when they did they were glaring. In fact, they were so indignant that Lexa let go in fear.

"Go home."

"Anya-"

Lexa tried to continue, but even though she thought impossible, her sisters eyes only became further irascible, causing her to stutter.

"Go. Home."

And so the girl turned back to her work and Lexa left the uncomfortable silence in exchange for a guilt-filled walk home.

But of course as the universe had it, she stubbled past a cute blonde along the way.
