"Why do you want to call off the wedding?" Azrael took a sip from his wine glass while eyeing her fiance, who was telling him to cancel their wedding. It was raining snow outside and they're having their late lunch in a fancy restaurant in New York.

"I don't think I owe you an explanation." Kaswal na sagot ng dalaga habang prenteng ginagalaw ang pagkain. He shook his head at her usual response.

Almost 3 months had passed since the two of them went together outside, yet just like the first time he met her, wala paring kaamor amor sa kan'ya ang babae. Not like he wants her but Azrael finds her deprivation of emotions really intriguing.

From the first day up until now, Zipporah remain her neutral look. It's been years, 10 to be exact, pero hindi niya pa nakikita ang mukha nito mabahiran ng emosyon. She's the most unpredictable and enigmatic person he ever met. Her eyes weren't cold that's why she's no Ice Princess. Those were always been blank and inscrutable. Like a mirror, it was reflective but never see through.

"I heard your father gave you the authority to handle the battle ground." Hindi ito nagreact sa sinabi niya. "I don't think that's enough guarantee to your position. I'm not calling off the wedding, Lady Z."

"I believe that's not under your concern." Anito at itinuon sa kan'ya ang blangkong mga mata. His brow jerked.

"Unfortunately, that's under my concern. Ensuring your safety is one of the reason why we're in this relationship." He reminded her. Nanatili ang tingin nito sa kan'ya, walang reaksyon ang mukha. He secretly grimace at her face. Zipporah is undeniably beautiful yet her attitude is a big no for him. Whenever he's with her, parang wala lang siyang kasama. She's looking too formal and dominant. Her aura, the way she looks and talk, and the kind of power she holds, ang lakas lang makatapak ng pagkalalaki.

"We're not pursuing this marriage." Diretsong saad ng babae. Pinal ang tono.

"Are you cutting ties with me?" 

She answered him with silence. Napabuntong hininga siya at bumaba ang tingin sa kan'yang plato. He's thinking why she suddenly decided to drop their wedding.

What they have is a more of a partnership out of convenience and indebtedness. She helped him up when he was at the edge of falling down. Zipporah lent him a huge money and power which he used to build his stand in the industry. She was the woman behind the success of Azolo Transpo and as an exchange, he has to keep her safe.

Aside from that, being linked with the unica ija of Hontiveros gave him a lot of investments and power. Her name attracts big investors to Azolo, malaki ang mawawala sa kan'ya. He can't just let her go.

"I'm not agreeing to that, Lady Z." Umangat ang dalawang kilay nito sa sinabi niya ngunit napatango din kalaunan. He looked at him intently, trying to read her mind pero nabigo lang ulit siya.

And it's frustrating dahil batid niyang kahit ilang beses niya pang tanungin ang babae tungkol sa mga plano nito, she won't say a thing. It's always like that. Wala sa kanilang mga tauhan nito ang nakakaalam sa iniisip ni Lady Z. They ought to just go with the flow and follow her orders.

"Dylan told me he wants you to do something for him." Anito na ipinagpatuloy ang pagkain. He inhaled tiringly, remembering Zipporah's long lost and found half brother. He's been pestering him for a week now to guard some random girl in the Philippines.

"Do it."

"Alam mong ayoko nang bumalik doon." Giit niya.

"He will suffer." Mariin siyang napapikit. He knows it. Kung walang gagawa malamang ay si Dylan mismo ang babalik sa Pilipinas para bantayan ang babae nito. And Dylan will surely suffer on her father's hand because of disobedience.
