"Fuck," Azrael woke up with his head throbbing. He sat down and rested his back against the couch.
The empty liquor bottles were scattered everywhere on his carpeted floor. The sofa— the whole house is a big mess. Gone the neat and clean house whom Avria used to go and wandered around before.
He spent his sleepless nights in his sofa, drowning himself in alcohol and in misery. That room was the only place here left unscratched, it's too precious for him dahil marami silang alaala ni Avria doon.
And he let that bastard go. He doesn't need him anyway. He can do things alone. He's better off alone. He can take Avria back alone.
Hindi niya kailangan ng iba, he only need his family, and that is Avria and their child.
Remembering his runaway girl, he rested his head and looked up at the ceiling while recalling Avria's words a week ago. Isang linggo na simula nang tangkain niyang kunin ito sa Hacienda Baleste, and he tried to sneak in again but the security became tighter. He can't contact his men inside the Hacienda, maski ang mga pinapadala niyang pagkain at mga prutas ay hindi na pinapapasok sa loob.
He tried to talk to Antonio but he can't seem to find him. Wala sa loob ng Hacienda ang makausap niya, and it's frustrating the hell out of him.
He felt immobile and powerless dahil wala siyang magawa para makita ang mag- ina niya. Each passing day felt heavier. Ang tanging nagtutulak na lang sa kan'ya para magpatuloy ay ang tracking device ni Avria, she still wearing the bracelet and it was the one giving him hope.
Nasa loob pa rin ito ng Hacienda, and that was all he need to continue. She's just there, he just need to make a way to get inside. Once he get in, he will take her with him by all means.
Magiging buo ang pamilya niya. Hindi sila masisira o magkakahiwalay. He won't fail as a man.. as a father.
"Wag kang tutulad sa'kin na talunan, Azrael. Kapag nasa sayo na, don't ever let it go. Ipaglaban mo kahit magkamatayan pa. Angkinin mo ang nararapat na sa'yo."
I will never be a loser like you, Mother.
"Azrael," he suddenly jerked at his seat when he heard a voice along with a sound of glass placed above his sofa table.
He opened his eyes and shock quickly put him back to his senses.
"Lady Z?"
"I made you a coffee. Drink it." Anito sa neutral na boses. She was standing tall and powerful in front of him, bringing her infamous neutral face.
"When did you arrive here in the Philippines?"
"Weeks ago." Tipid na sagot nito.
"What? Bakit walang sinasabi sa'kin si Raul? No one informed me you're already here." Lintaniya.
"I don't want to disturb you with your mission."
"Kahit na, Zipporah. What if they've planned something for you? Pwede kang mapahamak lalo't nasa Pilipinas ka." He didn't mean to make it sound like a sermon.
