The Mercenary 2

Part 18

Tony POV-

We arrive at the location to find an old office building, it's rundown and doesn't look like it's been used in years.

Tony- split up and find Y/N, she's here somewhere
Steve and Nat head off together whilst Wanda takes Peter with her.
I search as many rooms as possible and she's nowhere to be seen
Tony- has anyone got anything?
Steve- not yet but this place is huge, can you sense her Wanda?
Wanda- I can't feel her

I enter a large meeting room and find the tables arranged but clean, someone had been here and this was the best evidence I had so far.
Checking the rooms off it, I spot one where the windows have all been blocked but the door is locked.
My blaster charged, I blow the hinges off and the door crashes to the ground. There's a person chained up but I can't see who it is yet, their head is being covered by a sack of some sort. I gently remove it to find Y/N, she's beaten and bruised.

Tony- I've got her, she's not looking too good
Steve- meet at the jet, we will get medical set up
I rip the chains off the walls and pick Y/N up, she's muttering random words under her breath but I can't tell what they are

I arrive at the jet, Natasha and Wanda watching me closely as I put Y/N down on the table so Bruce can look at her
Bruce- she's dehydrated but the wounds are superficial, she should be okay
Wanda- hey bubs, I don't know if you can hear me but we are here and you're okay

Nat POV-

I can't get what the Ghost said out of my head.
'You know who I am, you just don't want to accept it', I look at Y/N, she couldn't be the Ghost because I was there when they were fighting bur Y/N could make others so maybe it was her?

Wanda- Nat, you sitting down or not?
Nat- no it's okay, you stay with her
As much as I wanted to stay with her, I couldn't. Y/N was too skilled for all of this to happen to her and everything just felt so off.

We arrived back at the compound and Bruce stitched Y/N up whilst giving her an IV to ensure she rehydrated appropriately. Wanda didn't leave her side and I watched from a distance

Y/N- what happened?
Wanda- hey it's okay, you're going to be fine
Y/N- I'm so sorry
Wanda- what for?
Nat- she's lying to us
Wanda- what?
Y/N- I don't know what you're talking about?
Nat- you know EXACTLY what I'm talking about
Y/N- I have no clue
She's putting on this act and I can see right through it but Wanda is buying every second of it

Wanda- I think you should go and cool down
Nat- I'm fine
Wanda- leave before I make you
I walk out the room and Wanda follows me
Wanda- what the hell is wrong with you?
Nat- you're so blind, she is fucking lying to us and you can't see it
Wanda- she was kidnapped and tortured again but yet you think it's HER FAULT?
Nat- she's too good, she beats all of us easily and those guys took her down with ease. It's so staged and it's obvious
Wanda- you're trying to ruin a perfectly good thing we've got going on here
Nat- no, I'm trying to protect you and this job, it's everything to me and I'm not going to lose it

I couldn't believe that Wanda couldn't understand what I was saying, in fact she would barely even listen to me. I knew how she felt about Y/N and I felt exactly the same way, we both loved her and she was everything to us but she wasn't herself and something was wrong.
I didn't know how to prove it to her but I had to, everyone needed to know what Y/N was really doing here and it was my job to do it

Bruce walks out the medical room
Wanda- is she okay?
Bruce- she's going to be fine, she's asleep now so leave her to rest and you can see her later
Nat- thanks Bruce, we will come back down later to see her
Bruce- if you could take your argument somewhere else, that would be appreciated
Wanda- don't worry, we are finished with that
I watch her walk off, I had upset her and I hated that but it was something I had to do.

A few hours have passed and everyone is pretty much asleep. I was restless because I kept thinking about Y/N, was she really betraying us or was I just paranoid about nothing?
I head down to see her and I spot she's on the phone, I open the door ever so slightly and listen in on her conversation

Y/N- we've got a problem, she's on to me and I don't think there's much I can do to hide this
I don't know who she is talking to but it sounds serious
Y/N- I'm trying my best to stop her from probing but she's a trained spy, she's too good at this. It's not exactly like I can avoid her, she's my girlfriend
She was talking about me, I knew it! I was on to something and Y/N needs to silence me
Y/N- the Ghost remains unknown, don't worry about that

There it was, all the confirmation I needed and in that moment I knew, Y/N had gone back to her old ways.
