Part 37

Noah POV-

The video led us to an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of Italy.
We were in the right place but it was too late. Y/N's suit was laying on the floor with all her weapons and comms units, patches of fresh and dried blood covered the floor.

Tony and I scanned the warehouse whilst Steve and Bucky kept watch outside. We left Natasha, Wanda and Elijah at the compound, we couldn't bring them potentially ruining things.
I walk over to the computer system and hack in which was incredibly easy. There were a couple files left and a video dated from yesterday.

Noah- Tony, there's a video
Tony- play it
The video buffers and the three men appear on screen faces still covered by weird masks. Y/N in the background strung up like before, she was looking worse than the video we saw.

Man- you finally made it to the warehouse, good. Your friend here won't tell us anything and that's not a smart move, the more she talks then the less we hurt her. There's a phone taped to the underside of the desk, ring the number and you can speak to her for 1 minute.

Tony quickly sets up his tracing unit and attached the phone, if we could get one ping from the other phone then we would be closer than ever before
Tony- okay I'm ready
I dial the number and it takes a while for someone to answer
Man- you've got one minute, make sure she understands that if she doesn't talk soon then she's dead.
Y/N- hello?
Noah- oh my god, are you okay?
Y/N- shh tell Natasha and Wanda I love them, tell Peter it wasn't his fault. I know you're doing everything you can but protect the world before one person. The world needs the avengers and I won't rat you out, no matter what they do to me.
Noah- what do they want?
Y/N- they need access codes to Shield, they're planning something so stop them before they can. One has a scar on his neck, I think they're European. Use the biometric scans to figure out height and weight, run them through the databases.

Loud shouting can be heard in the background as the phone goes dead.
Noah- so?
Tony- it's pinging off multiple towers in Croatia.
Noah- I can work with that
We sweep the building again, collecting old coffee cups and taking samples from the chains and left behind weapons.
I'm hoping there's DNA on them and we can identify whoever they are.

Bruce and Elijah spend hours collecting DNA, sorting through the old samples with more recent transference.
Elijah might have no common sense but Biology was his thing. He could sort through DNA with ease as well as creating it. He could do anything in
Biological terms and that was needed right now.

Narrator POV-

The team were lifeless without you, they didn't know what to do.
Noah told Wanda and Natasha what you had said causing a smile through their tears.
Nat- she's alive still?
Noah- and still bossing me around
Wanda- have you found anything?
Elijah- we are still in early stages but there's lots to go with at the moment. I'm hoping we get something

You had been unconscious for a long time, they'd been using chloroform to keep you knocked out during transport.
You woke up tied to a table, the surroundings were new and different to the last. They were more modern, like a lab or something.
Kyle- you are awake
Y/N- I see we moved
Kyle- we preferred it here
Y/N- we crossed two borders I think, moving northeast? Croatia likely
Kyle- very good my dear, you're better than people let on
Y/N- the tv is on, the flag is in the top corner

The men laughed and you joined in, only to be beaten once again. The men were more physical here, they didn't care about hurting you.
???- Stop.
All the men complied as an unknown walked into the room.
???- it's time for testing, get her ready
You struggled against them as they sprayed you down, the cold water stinging against your wounds. An IV was placed into your arm and the liquid rushed into your veins.
Y/N- who are you?
???- my name is Johann Schmidt
Y/N- is that supposed to mean anything?
Johann- maybe Red Skull means something to you or your precious Captain America
Y/N- he said you were dead
RS- we at Hydra have our ways of being alive when we shouldn't be.

Your whole body was restricted as the process began, Needles stabbing into your arm as they kept injecting you with things. The pain scale was through the roof, the drugs they gave you couldn't touch what they were doing.
RS- you see, we needed someone to help us and why not bring back our star. The one who served us for years without question.
Y/N- I'm not them anymore
RS- you've always been them, we pulled your deepest desires to the surface and made you into who you were. The one with no fears and the one who would do anything to be at the top.

You knew he was right, the whole time you were with them. They did everything they could to make sure you were the best, they gave you the hardest jobs and you made them look easy.
For years, nobody could keep up with you and it took a long time for the avengers to find out about you, let alone get close to your identity.

RS- today we take back what is ours. We get our killer back and the avengers finish.
Y/N- I'm not doing it
RS- oh but Sonny, you have no choice. Start the machine!

Rumbles fill the rooms as everyone leaves, a bright light blinds you as you become enclosed in a capsule. Filling was gas, it fills your lungs taking over your body. The light gets brighter and you close your eyes, clenching them at the sensation running through your body.
The machine whirling as the restraints get tighter, reducing the circulation in your arms and legs.
Your screams can't be heard, the machine was too loud and they didn't even care. They enjoyed seeing you in pain.
The last stage begun, a metal ring dropping down onto your head gripping tightly as it shocked you. The memories of your life slowly fading as your old life began to resurface.

The feelings you had towards the avengers were pushed down to the point of nonexistence.
The chamber opened and the restraints released.
One step down, the new Sonny was born.
