Chapter 75

Y/N POV

I was shooting around outside my house waiting for Anna to be ready for our appointment.

I felt my phone ring so I took it out of my pocket to see Max calling "Hi Max" I said

"Hi Y/N/N. Umm so you remember how I was saying Sage is really smart for his age?" She asked

"Yeah? Anna does a good job teaching him stuff" I said simply

"Well I don't think that's the case. I mean Anna taught him but, I think Sage has savant syndrome" she said

What the hell is that?

"Explain?" I asked

"Just look it up. I can't explain" she said

I quickly looked it up. Autism? Brilliance?

"You think Sage has autism?"

"She's probably right. I can tell by some of the things he does" Anna said scaring the literal shit out of me

She was holding Sage's hand and her belly as she walked over to me

"I'm so confused right now. You think he's autistic?" I asked her

"Yeah like at practice he rocks himself when he sits or he only looks a select amount of people in the eyes. You can tell he's uncomfortable if he meets your eyes on accident. Unless you're familiar he doesn't like you touching him and the boy is too smart for his own good. He told me what kind of fish Nemo is and what ocean he lived in." Max explained

"Ok but let's not self diagnose my child. We'll get him tested but for now we gotta get going to a doctors appointment for something else. I'll talk to you later" I said before hanging up

"Let's go" I said opening Anna's door and making sure Sage was safely locked into his car seat

"This is going to be a little cold" the doctor said adding the gel to Anna's stomach

I heard a heartbeat but it didn't sound right "Wh-why does our baby sound like that doc?" I was scared that she wasn't ok

"Because you're not having a baby" I felt my tears start to pool

"L-like a miscarriage" Anna said gripping my hand

He chuckled and shook his head "Why is this funny to you?" I was angry at this point

"Because it's not miscarriage. Your babies are healthy with strong heartbeats" he said calm

"B-babies?" I asked. I felt lightheaded

"You're having twins! Congratulations!" He said. I gagged and ran to the garbage can and hurled all of my breakfast up. I stood back up and passed out

I opened my eyes and I was in a hospital bed hooked up to a IV. "What the hell" I said sitting up and looking around

My eyes met an annoyed Anna looking at me holding Sage "What happened?" I asked

"You passed out when they told us we were having twins" she said rolling her eyes

"So it wasn't a dream" I huffed and rubbed my eyes

"It's your fault! My back hurt carrying big head over there and now I have two of your fat head kids in me. This is how you repay me for everything I do for you?" She rolled her eyes and pushed me over so she could lay with me

"Jerk" she mumbled softly cuddling into my side. Sage whined and I looked down to see him wanting to get on the bed "cuddle?" He said

"Come on booger" I grabbed him and laid him on top of me "Stay with me forever?" Anna mumbled

"I'm not going anywhere bubba" I kissed her forehead and rubbed her side "I'm happy. I have everything I need right here and we're having twins!....they better be girls. Plus I got to marry the love of my life. I'm definitely not going anywhere." I said

She sighed softly and rubbed Sage's back as his breathing slowed "Do you really think he's autistic? Or has savant syndrome as Max said?" I asked her

"Mmm I don't know. She made good points about it and he is really smart for his age but, that could be anything."

"I'll set up an appointment with a specialist" I said. She hummed and kissed my neck "I love you" she whispered in my ear

"I love you more than anything in this world. You're it for me" I pulled her closer and we just laid in silence

"Ok so we'll meet the specialist tomorrow at four o'clock" I said coming into our room seeing Anna in bed on her computer

"Sounds good to me...hey baby?" She asked

"Yes my love" I said dropping my jeans to change into my shorts

"One, don't put those on. Two, can you make me a peanut butter pickel sandwich please?" She gave me the puppy dog eyes.

I sighed and nodded heading downstairs. "Mama" I jumped and turned around to see Sage standing there "How the heck do you keep getting out of bed?" I said picking him up and finishing the sandwich

"Crackers" he said pointing to the cabinet

"I already brushed your teeth bud. Snack times over. We'll have breakfast later" I said

He gave me Anna's signature puppy dog eyes "Oh come on dude. Don't start that. You and your mommy are killing me" I grabbed the cheez-it box and carried all the stuff up to our room

"Hi mommy" Sage waved as I put him down on the bed

"Why are you up Sage Oakley?" Anna asked

"Your son here climbed out of his crib, down the stairs, and to me.

"Ok...why do you have cheez-it's I only wanted the sandwich" she said taking the plate with a small thanks

"I'm glad you don't want any because they weren't for you" I put a few in my hand and gave them to Sage

He tried to grab them all and put them in his mouth "No. one at a time booger" I told him. I sighed and put all but one down

"Good job" I got in the bed behind him an played with his hair as he sat there and ate watching Mickey Mouse.

He fell asleep awhile after "I'm going to go put him back to bed" I said picking him up and kissing Anna before leaving

I laid him in his crib and looked at him "No matter if you're autistic or not I'm always going to love you the same booger because there's nothing wrong with you." I whispered kissing his forehead
