Chapter 21

Y/N POV

It's Friday. I'm getting ready for school right now. My music teacher is making me sing at the dance which is so nerve racking. She sprung the news on my yesterday. Like how do expect anyone to be ready for that.

I don't know what song to do. Pretty much all my songs are about Anna.  I hope she knows that the songs are about her and likes them. I grabbed my guitar because she's making me and the band in my music class so practice all day.I like using my own guitar. It was gifted to me by my grandmother so it's a big part of my heart.

I haven't told Anna yet I think I'm going to make it a surprise.

Anna's going to school with Dallas today so it's just me and my thoughts.

What songs am I going to do?
Why would Ms. James tell me such short notice?
I've never sung in front of a lot of people
You'll be fine
You know what you want to sing you just need to relax

I pulled up to school after way too much thinking time. I went in to Anna's locker so I could tell her I would only be in 4th period and lunch. I can't tell her why though so that's gonna be difficult.

"Hi bubba! You didn't come over last night I missed you." She said pouting.

Yeah I was practicing all the songs for tonight

She gave me a hug and then kissed me. "I'm sorry bub. I should've told you I had a lot of..uh.. homework and computer science is a pain in the ass right now. But i missed you too and I'm sorry. Hi Dallas" She gave me a smile and waved.

The bell ring. "You ready to go?" Anna asked me interlocking our fingers. Shit I got to tell her now "Actually I won't be in class today...well actually I'm excused from all my classes except for English class and lunch." I said now looking at a sad and confused Anna. "But why? Why are you excused from all those classes?"

"B-because I'm uh helping Ms.Kambell in the front office set up for Homecoming. Y-you know like um tickets and stuff like t-that." I never lie to Anna it felt weird. I could tell she wasn't really buying the story but nevertheless she believed me to an extent and said goodbye leaving with Dallas. Dallas turned around and mouthed 'you're an idiot' then turned back around

I get to the music studio in our school to see Ms.James and the kids who are also in this "band" she put together for tonight. "Good morning Y/N! Did you decide on what you're going to be playing at the dance yet?"

"Yes ma'am I have. Since I have to do two songs at the dance I was thinking a slow and a faster upbeat song." I said biting on my lip at the end. Her smile grew wide "That's perfect! Well you have all day so you can tell the band how to play the songs you put together and then get to work! I hope to hear great things from you tonight Y/N! You have an amazing voice." I thanked her and we were off to work, but I lied to her I wanted to do three songs.

"Ok guys so you know my girlfriend Anna Shumate right?" They all nodded with smiles. I smiled back and continued "Well these songs are for her. Also...do you guys think you could fit in another song?" They all shook their heads with confidence. God what would I do without them.

We played for up until 4th period and we all left for that class we would come back after lunch. 

I saw Anna at her locker. I walked up behind her and hugged her. She instantly knew it was me. She turned around and threw her arms around my neck. "Hi bubba! I missed you sitting next me all day. Jesus Christ I miss your lips kiss me!" She pulled me in by my collar and smashed her lips on to mine before I could even say hi. I put my hands on her hips pulling her even closer to me

"They don't see eachother for 5 hours and it's like the end of the world as we know it." Clarke said walking with Dallas and Taylor down the hall to us "yea- did you just quote R.E.M.?" Clarke nodded his head "yes, yes I did." We pulled apart and started laughing with everyone else

I then turned my attention back to my gorgeous girlfriend "So! What I miss in our classes today?"

"Well we really didn't do anything,but like three people tried to hit on me today. I guess because the sexy big scary basketball playing girlfriend wasn't sitting next to me today. They probably thought they would get bold while they had the chance. But I said no way josé! Then showed them the ring I got from my wife." She then flipped her hair. I laughed at her childlike antics. "I love you" I said so caught up in her I ignored everything around us.

"Ok lovebirds let's get to 4th period on time" Dallas said patting me on the back. We all had 4th period and lunch together so that's good. Dallas, Clarke, and Taylor know about my Homecoming performance. I asked them to keep it quiet so I could suprise her

"So what songs are you singing?" Taylor asked me when Anna left to go the the bathroom. Clarke and Dallas turned around from in front of me to hear. "yeah what're you singing?" Dallas added

"Well I was thinking slow first with the song Meet me in Amsterdam that i made a few months ago, then follow it with Say You Won't Let Go I made it a while ago when Anna and I first started dating which will be a little faster, then finish with Fresh Eyes. I just hope it's good enough for tonight. I want it to be perfect!" I said running my hands in my hair looking down

"You want what to be perfect?" Shit Anna. I shot up and looked for help from everyone. They all just turned around. Some friends they are. "Uh I-I hope my... help for the school dance was enough because I want it to be perfect." I was so nervous but I tried to cover it... with yet another lie. I don't like this "ok whatever weirdo" Clarke gave me a slick thumbs up.

After an interesting lunch that consisted of Anna and I basically making out at our table the whole time and people hooting and telling me how lucky I'm getting later tonight. Even though I'm not because she's on her fucking period. I hope that doesn't make her all moody tonight. And it also consisted of our friends yelling at us to listen to what they were saying in whatever conversation we were having. I just couldn't listen her lips were like heaven. I had to pull away though I had to go back to the music studio.

"Ok babe I got to get back. I'll see you after school ok?" I said with my finger under her chin making her look at me. She nodded "One more kiss? Please?" How could I say no to that.

I don't usually like as much PDA as I'm showing but I hadn't kissed her in so long.

I kissed her with just as much passion as I do any other day. We pulled away and said our goodbyes for the rest of the school day. Back to my music.
