Chapter 87

Anna POV

I couldn't sleep after our very fun night

If you know what I mean

something just felt off, so I lay awake cuddled up into my wife's arms

I sighed and kept looking at her "If you sigh one more time, I'm going to sleep somewhere else" Y/N mumbled

"Sorry" I whispered softly. She opened her eyes and sat up "Alright, what's going on?"she asked, wiping the sleep out of her eyes

"Nothing" I lied. She turned the light on and looked into my eyes "Why are you lying to me?" She asked me sternly

I sighed and scooted closer to her "Something just doesn't feel right. I can feel it. I don't know exactly what it is, but- I don't know. It just makes me feel uncomfortable" I explained

She put her hands through my hair and leaned down to my face "As long as I'm here, nothing bad is going to happen. I got your back baby" she whispered. She kissed my head and got up

"Where are you going" I asked her

She pulled on some boxers and a wife beater

"To make sure our little monsters are ok and to make sure the doors are locked to please my queen" She made me feel so important and that everything I said meant something

"Thank you" I mumbled sinking back into our warm comfortable bed

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. You stay here all naked and beautiful and I'll go risk my life to be your knight in shining armor" the sarcasm evident in her voice

"My hero" My smile grew "You know... I might have a surprise for my hero if you get back quick enough"

Her eyes widened and a smirk was etched onto her face. She walked to the bed and peeked into the cover to see my naked body "Ok I'm ready. I needed some assistance" she kissed my collarbone and stood back up

I giggled at her as she turned and left the room

Y/N POV

I sighed and ran my hand through my hair. The things I do for the woman I'm in love with.

I walked into the twins room first and checked everything out. They looked fine they were breathing and didn't look disturbed. I kissed them both and walked out, closing the door behind me

I then walked to my sons room, but then that's when I felt it. Something wasn't right. It made the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

I quickly turned the light in the hallway on and looked around

Nothing

I shook my head and walked into Sage's room. I checked everything out like I did before and then returned to Sage's crib

"I love you little dude" I whispered before kissing his head. I turned to leave, but I felt it again. I walked to the bookshelf and grabbed the baby monitor.

Anna and I had not been using the monitor for him to see if he could sleep through the night or if he could grab it and communicate himself. Which he had been doing perfectly fine, so we don't really use it much anymore

I then walked out of his room still a little unsure if I should've kept him in there, but it's fine it's probably just my imagination

As I was walking down the hallway I kept feeling it then I heard a noise. I quietly walked downstairs, still hearing the noise. It sounded like it was coming from the kitchen. I grabbed the bat that was in the coat closet and carefully made my way into the kitchen
