I awoke to the heavenly scent of bananas, chocolate and coffee filling the room. Slowly I opened my eyes, the light coming through the curtains of the balcony a little brighter than I'd expected and it causing me to slam my eyes shut while sucking a breath through my teeth. The amount of light stung my eyes and the sound coming from me sounded more like a hiss, so I couldn't resist a slight giggle that slipped through.

"What makes my love laugh so this early in the morning?" Adrian asked, the humor evident in his voice. My sleep roughened voice croaked when I answered.

"I just sounded like a movie vampire there for a moment. Kinda made me laugh a little because the vampire who usually makes that noise is just down the hall."

"We'll have to let him see that sometime," Adrian said with a chuckle. "Now sit up so you can eat. I brought you something special this time."

"I know those smells," I said with a wistful look. "That's my favorite muffin and coffee. Thank you so much, my love."

"Anything for you."

As I picked the small chunks of chocolate off the top, I suddenly realized that I hadn't told him what my favorite muffin was. I then took a sip of the coffee and realized that he had never actually seen me make my own cup of coffee. So, there was no way for him to know how I liked it. My blissful look morphed into one of confusion and suspicion.

"Alright, mister. Just what did you do, and why did you drag Reggie into it?" As soon as the question left my lips I could see Adrian's head dip a little lower between his shoulders. Turning slowly, he looked over his shoulder with a guilty smile on his face.

"Nothing bad, I assure you," he said. "I just haven't been in bed all that long."

"I kinda figured you just got in considering the coffee is still pretty hot," I said. Shifting a little, I looked right into his eyes. "So what did you do that makes you look like that?"

"Why don't you finish your breakfast, do your usual morning routine and we'll talk about it then?" Nice deflection there, butthead. I looked at him through the squinted eyes for a moment before I went back to eating. He seemed to relax a little bit and slid over in the bed closer to me, nudging me to beg for a piece of the muffin I held. How could I be mad at this bundle of morning cuteness? It is impossible! So I broke off a bit of the muffin and popped it into his mouth, his eyes widening for a moment before a blissful look crossed his face.

"Those are really good," he said happily. "Now I understand your feelings about these little pastries. Your pleasure level rose so high that I felt it as if it were my own."

"I forgot!" I said. "I never let you try a banana before, so you didn't even know what one tasted like. I've got so many things for you to try you've never had before."

"I don't believe I've seen you so excited about something before," Adrian said, his chuckle turning to full on laughter.

"Hey! I've been excited by other things, dammit. You know that." I smacked his chest, but his mirth only seemed to grow. Then he suddenly sobered and leaned his lips next to my ear.

"I know you've been excited by other things, my sweet. Would you like me to refresh your memory of what they are?" His sultry voice in my ear sent shivers down my spine.

"You know I'm tempted," I managed to say as his head dipped and his lips left open mouth kisses over my shoulder and neck, "but I'd like to walk normally when we go to my dad's place today. I know you. You won't stop for anything."
