When we made ready to go, we gathered in Father's house and got the basic rundown of how this whole thing would probably go.
"My ex-wife is about as disagreeable as you could possibly get without a prescription," Allen mentioned. "I know Vlad did something to make her forget Y/N after the Halloween party, but she will fight tooth and nail to make sure her daughter Ellie never has to fight for housing. This will probably include a lot of yelling, screaming, insults about everything from your parentage to your ability to get it up and possible throwing of objects."
"She throws something at me and I'll throw hands," Leo said. "I have no trouble pitching her out the door with force."
"You will do no such thing," Richter said forcibly. "I taught you a whole lot better than to even come up with the idea of hurting a women, no matter if she does deserve it. We'll deal with her in some other manner before we ever consider coming to blows with her."
"It isn't her you have to worry about so much," Father said. "You'll have to watch Ellie and Mike. Those two are more likely to resort to violence."
"Well, if it comes to it, I will physically remove them from the house," I said. "I can lift them up and place them outside the house with no trouble."
"When we get there," Allen said with a smirk, "we should go by the sheriff's department."
"Why?" Leo asked.
"Because I just so happen to have the deed to the house that states it belongs to Y/N. With that one piece of paper the sheriff's department will help us remove them from the premises. Legally speaking, they're squatting and would be breaking the law if they remain. Both mine and Y/N's name are listed as owners, so if I request the aid of the department, they'd be obligated to help in removing them."
"And," Hugue added, "because it is a private residence rather than an apartment, they can call over extra hands to remove their belongings faster. No eviction notice necessary."
After a brief talk about how we're doing all this, Allen was given the main shard and said the words to open the Mirror. He then imbued the rest of our shards with the same image and led us to the house. When we arrived, the house itself was a beautiful structure: a one and a half story house with well kept lawn and shrubbery, potted miniature trees on either side of a small set of stairs that led to a small porch, a beautiful brick fascia with wooden accents and shutters around the windows, large windows to let in plenty of light and a large wooden door with a window in the center surrounded with hummingbirds frozen in stained glass.
"Before we go in there, we're going to get the sheriff and a moving truck," Father said. "This way they have no excuse to leave anything behind."
"There's a restaurant two blocks down, so we'll go over there," Allen said. "This way you guys can grab a bite to eat while you wait for us to get back."
"One question," Leo began, "how the hell are we getting around? I mean we didn't exactly bring a car with us or anything."
"You do realize they have this service that allows you to rent a car and they'll pick you up, right?" Hugue said off-handedly. "Father and Allen can just request a vehicle that seats seven, they'll pick them up to finish out the paperwork and then they'll come back around to pick us up before going to the house."
"Brother, you're speaking a lot more," I said. Hugue, to his credit, turned about three shades of red before he answered.
"Is that a bad thing?" he asked, his earnest question was filled with apprehension and fear. That hurt my feelings to know that he'd be so self-conscious about talking.
