'What a prick!' I thought to myself. 'Its not like I was asking him to donate a fucking kidney or something, All he had to do was grab that book for me, but oh, no! He just had to sit there and fucking laugh at me! Gods, I wanna beat him senseless with a rubber chicken!'

I went back to the library where all my things were and grabbed my laptop and handheld scanner. I had a feeling that some of these books would be in languages that I don't recognize. The fact that I had downloaded that language program with over 200 dialects should help me out quite a bit here. Hopefully Sypha will know what books to look for because I don't have the foggiest notion of what to look for first.

While I made my way to the front of the castle I saw Alucard walking toward me. I was so disgusted and angry with him that I did my best to avoid eye contact and walk away. I briefly saw his eyes flash in recognition as if he wanted to talk to me, but I refused to acknowledge him in any way. I just walked toward the front where I saw Sypha and Trevor waiting.

"Hey, guys," I said with a smile.

"Are you sure you're ready for this?" Trevor asked me.

"Yes indeed. I am most certainly ready, so let's kick this pig!" I said while thrusting my fist in the air.

"Why would you want to kick a pig?" Sypha asked with her head tilted in confusion.

"It's just a saying, Sypha. Relax a bit, ok? I'm not actually going to kick anything." I said with a smile on my face. "It means that we should all go do this is all."

"I'm not certain how kicking a pig is in any way related to doing something, but let's go anyway." She still looked confused, which made me laugh, but she was fighting to take everything I'd said and allow for the things she didn't know. For that, I truly admired her.

We loaded onto a weight-driven elevator platform and began our descent. I saw that Alucard was a little too close to me, so I moved as far away from him as I could. I could hear a gasp coming from Sypha, but I didn't care. The man was an insufferable dick, and I had had just about enough of those in my life to last for five lifetimes.

It shouldn't have bothered me to notice that Y/N moved away from me. It shouldn't. It shouldn't because that was my intention from the beginning. So why did it? Why did it seem to burn my soul to know she didn't want to even stand near me now? Why did I feel tears spring to the corners of my eyes at the thought that I wouldn't hear her voice speaking to me? I must be losing my mind!

I cleared my throat and wiped my eyes before we got to the end of the ride down. When we stopped, I stepped off to tie the platform down before I moved over to the candles. I lit several and placed them in the candelabras before turning to everyone and passing them out.

"This should make it a bit easier to see," I said quietly.

"Sypha?" Y/N spoke, "Would you or Trevor be able to point out some of the oldest books here in the hold? I would like to start there first."

"I don't really have any idea where the oldest part is, but maybe since Alu -"

"Never mind. I'll find it," Y/N said quickly cutting her off. We all watched as Y/N moved quickly toward the back of the hold without the candelabra I had lit for her.

Suddenly, Sypha and Trevor's heads whipped toward my direction. "What the hell did you do, asshole?" Trevor asked in a hushed yell.

I couldn't answer him because even I didn't know. I had been lost in thought and so had no idea what it was that upset Y/N so much.
