From the moment we walked around that corner into the living room I could tell that this was Y/N's father and where she got most of her looks from. The man was a mammoth of a man, being well over six and a half feet tall, but he had the kindest (e/c) eyes and the same (h/c) hair, only his had faded a little bit and had a few streaks of gray peppering his temples. He had a very similar smile as well, his cheeks showing small dimples when he did. I also noticed that he had a bit of an English accent which had me wondering why Y/N didn't.

"I know that look," Mr. Y/L/N said with an arched brow and a grin. When I looked at him, he smiled and said, "You're trying to figure out why Y/N doesn't sound like me. That it?"

"Uh, yes, sir," I had to admit. I could feel the damn blush running over my face like it was trying to win a marathon as this man seemed to read my mind.

"Oi! None of this 'sir' shit. Call me Allen. Sir is used for my father and those who've been knighted," he rattled off.

"Ok," Y/N said with a smirk, "so why don't you ever say that to Bradley? A man you still refer to by his last name after all this time as your assistant." She turned her head to look at me with an eyebrow raised before she scoffed and rolled her eyes. I was already having trouble keeping a straight face after Allen's rant, but now I had Y/N making faces at me and I started to chuckle.

"Where I'm from, you only refer to someone by their last name when you're frustrated or angry with them," Sypha added.

"You call me Belmont all the time, though," the brunette idiot just had to say. And, naturally, Sypha didn't disappoint.

"That's because I'm almost always frustrated or angry with you. I thought you'd pick up on that one by now." She rolled her eyes for effect when he drew himself up short and tried to get upset.

"Forgive them," Father said with a chuckle. "Children at play, don't you know?"

"Hey! He's no better," Y/N shot back. Pointing at her father, she said, "He's got a whole room dedicated to model trains. Built a whole town with mountains, a forest with a pond in the center, a bridge and a couple of tunnels. This one's as big a kid as the rest of us, so don't you dare try to play the child card here, Vlad."

"Model trains?" Mother inquired. "I don't think I remember ever seeing model trains."

"Oh great," Y/N said, a chuckle evident in her tone. "Now you've done it. Let us now have a moment of silence while Dad finds the pictures on his phone to show everyone." Sure enough, her father had his phone in hand and was sliding his finger over the screen. Within moments, her father was leaning over to the other side of the couch, showing everyone pictures of the elaborate town he'd built and the train sets he had. Once he'd finished showing everyone, he sat back up and looked to Y/N.

"I already ordered lunch for everyone as you requested. It should be here shortly."

"That's weird," Trevor blurted.

"How do you mean?" Allen questioned.

"Well, we're so used to Y/N cooking, I guess I kind of figured that you'd cook as well."

With a laugh, Allen responded, "You wouldn't want me to cook unless you're extremely fond of food poisoning and charcoal."

"Oh yeah," Y/N said with a giggle, "you really don't want this man to cook. He burns water, destroys pots trying to make mac and cheese and can't cook a packet of ramen to save his life. You'd be better off going out back and grabbing a handful of dirt." We all laughed over that one.
