Dracula P.O.V.
Its been a couple of months since our major fuck up and I'm pretty sure my loving wife is about to lose her mind. It took almost two weeks for the pair to actually talk to us, and with valid reason, but they refused to drink anything they didn't bring themselves and would only drink out of bottles to make sure they could screw the lid on it tightly. Paranoia over what we'd do next was expected and had a grounding in fact and possibility. Lisa, on the other hand, was deeply hurt by their lack of trust. She had only wanted the two of them to be able to comfort each other and relieve their stress.
Now we were completing the wedding set up for the double wedding and had even met Ryan. The meeting with all of us had taken quite a bit of time to arrange, but Ryan was ecstatic with the whole situation. He'd been in tears when we told him he would be having a wedding with us, Y/N not having the time to tell the poor guy he would be having his own as well, and explained that we wouldn't be adding more guests.
"I don't care if we can't invite guests to come with us," the rather large dirty blonde male said with happy laughter and a tear in his eye. "I'm just happy that people who treat us as if we're family will be there and we can exchange rings and all the stuff you normally do at a wedding." It wasn't long after he'd made that statement that he'd broken down to tears and Gregory had to hold him. I had to smile at this because I had seen many couples such as this all through my long life. Only here in the last two centuries had people been so prudish and not allow those who love each other, whether they be male or female, two males or two females, or whatever their preference, and put so many restrictions on them just because of it.
"That went a lot better than I thought," Lisa said as she walked in and dropped her bag next to the dining room table.
"What would that be?" I asked.
"I just took Hugue out to lunch with Y/N and Adrian," she said. "Hugue does not have the draw to Y/N as we might have guessed, but instead is protecting her for his brother."
"That's good to know," I responded, my face showing a tiny bit of surprise. "However, I still have this sneaking suspicion that he may feel the pull of a mate."
"I do too," she said with a smile. "So does Adrian. He remembered how clueless he was at the beginning, too, so he's just going to wait to see what happens."
"Has he mentioned this to Y/N?" I asked while I made a cup of coffee for the both of us. "It'd be a good idea to warn her should this truly turn into a second mate situation."
"She knows, but she has a feeling he isn't a second mate already. She doesn't feel the tingle up her back we all have when we're near our mates, so she believes he isn't attracted to her in that way."
I shook my head. "She has no idea that we display our attraction in different ways sometimes. I would bet a hundred bucks that by this time next year she's going to have him nearly humping her leg."
Lisa laughed, "You're on, love." We sat chatting with each other over our coffee and some monkey bread for a while before our children walked in the door.
"I'm here for dinner!" Celeste announced, her brothers groaning at her lack of volume control.
"I will help make dinner," Hugue offered. All of us stopped in shock.
"Hugue," I said with a bit of curiosity, "you never offer to help in the kitchen. What's got you saying so now?" My mostly silent son looked down at the floor for a moment while knocking the tip of his shoe into it a few times.
"I was going to help Y/N make dinner," he muttered softly, "but after lunch I realized that my closeness with her is being misinterpreted. I don't want that to happen again because I don't want to upset Adrian and Y/N."
