Saving Two Innocent Lives

Riana's POV

I wake up to see Dumbledore asking to speak to Harry and Hermione alone. "What's going on?" I ask them.

"Ah good timing Miss Adleril-Von. I was just telling these three how the word of four thirteen year old wizards won't convince anyone of Sirius Black's innocence. A mysterious thing, time. Powerful... and when meddled with, dangerous" he states. "Sirius Black is in the topmost cell of the Dark Tower" he tells us. "You know the rules Miss Adleril-Von and Miss Granger, you can't be seen. And you would do well, I feel, to return before this last chime. If not, the consequences are too ghastly to discuss" he states.

"If you succeed tonight... more than one innocent life may be spared. Three turns should do it, I think. Oh, and by the way. When in doubt, I find retracing my steps to be a wise place to begin. Good luck" he says. Before leaving locking the door behind him.

"What the bloody hell was that all about?" Ron asks.

"Sorry Ron but seeing as you can't walk" Hermione says sheepishly. I stand up taking our my time turner. While she puts the chain of hers around her's and Harry's necks. "Three turns" she says and I nod my head.

We turn the time turners back three times before letting them go. We go back three hours. "Seven thirty, where were we at seven thirty?" I ask the pair. As Harry asked where Ron was.

"I don't know, going to Hagrid's" Harry answers.

"Come on. And we can't be seen" Hermione tells us. She grabs Harry's hand and we race through the corridors to Hagrid's place. When we arrive we hide behind the giant pumpkins. Hermione explaining to Harry what's going on.

"Buckbeak's alive" I say with a smile as I look at the hippogriff.

"Of course. Remember what Dumbledore said? If we succeed, more than one innocent life could be spared" Hermione states.

"Meaning Sirius will escape on Buckbeak, if all goes to plan" I state with a smile.

"Scabbers you're alive!" past Ron exclaims from inside the house.

"That's Pettigrew" Harry sneers.

"Harry you can't" Hermione and I tell him. As she holds his arm.

"He betrayed my parents. You both don't expect me to sit here" he says.

"Yes, Harry you must" I tell him as we pull him further from the hut behind the pumpkins.

"Harry, you're in Hagrid's hut now. If you just go bursting in, you'll think you've gone mad. Awful things happen to wizards who meddle with time. We can't be seen" Hermione explains.

"We'll get Pettigrew another time" I tell him. I notice the minister approaching with the executioner and Dumbledore. "Fudge is coming" I tell them.

"But we're not leaving, why aren't we leaving?" Hermione asks us. I notice a pebble and throw it through the window breaking the vase.

"Are you mad?" Harry asks me. As Hermione grabs another and throws it through the window. Getting past Harry in the back of the head. "That hurt" he tells her with a pout.

"Sorry" she says sheepishly.

"To the trees" I tell them. We rush and hide behind the trees. As our past selves hid behind the pumpkins. The minster  enters Hagrid's hut with Dumbledore and the executioner.

"Is that really what my hair looks like from the back?" Hermione asks us. I pull her back behind the tree. As the past her and me look at the trees.

"What?" past Ron asks them.

"I thought I just saw... Never mind" past Hermione says.

"Lets go" past me says and they leave. We come out of hiding. But stay out of view of the window. Harry goes and unties Buckbeak. Who refuses to move. Hermione and I grab the dead ferrets and he follows us into the forest. We watch the executioner take his anger out on a giant pumpkin. While Fudge, Dumbledore and Hagrid went back into the hut for a cup of tea.

We lead Buckbeak towards the lake. We watch everyone enter the tunnel below the whomping willow. Buckbeak then hunts bats while we wait. Soon they come out. "You see Sirius talking to me there? He's asking me to come live with him" Harry tells us.

"That's great" we tell him.

"When we free him, I'll never have to go back to the Dursleys'. It'll just be me and him. We could live in the country... someplace you can see the sky" he tells us.

"I think he'll like that after all those years in Azkaban" I tell him and he smiles. The full moon appears and Remus turns. We run towards the lake and Hermione howls. Harry stops her.

"What are you doing?" he demands.

"Saving your life" I tell him and howl with Hermione. Moony starts to run towards us.

"Great! Now he's coming for us" Harry says.

"Yeah, I didn't think about that. Run!" Hermione shouts. We run deeper into the woods with a werewolf on our tail. We hide behind a tree. "Did we lose him?" she asks me.

"I think so" I tell her. We go around the tree and hear a growl. "Then I have been wrong before" I say. We turn to see Moony. He growls at us and lunges as I protect the others. But Buckbeak appears rearing on his hind legs hitting Moony in the face with his talons. Moony snarls in pain before running off into the woods.

I turn around to see Hermione alone. "Where's Harry?" I ask her. We see a bright light and run over. To see a stag patronus chasing dementors away from past Harry, Sirius and me. Once they were gone it returns to Harry. "Wow, well done Harry" I tell him.

"Time to retrieve Sirius" Hermione states. We turn to see Buckbeak with a black hippogriff. "Isn't that the hippogriff you flew?" she asks me.

"Sure is" I say as I bow to him. He bows back. "Give me a lift?" I ask as I stroke his neck. He coos and I mount him. Harry and Hermione mount Buckbeak. We fly to the tower where Sirius is. Hermione frees him and he hops on the back of Buckbeak. We fly to the clock tower court yard.

Sirius thanks us for saving him. He promised Harry that one day they'd be a family. He said Hermione and I are really the smartest witches of our age. I said good bye to the black hippogriff. Before we raced back to the hospital wing. "Well?" Dumbledore asks us.

"He's free. We did it" Harry tells him with a bright smile.

"Did what?" he asks fawning innocence. We sends us into the room and locks the door behind us. Madame Pomfrey appears from her office and starts to fuss over all of us. I sit on a bed enjoying a blood pop.
