Riana's POV
"What did you wish to discuss, Hermione? " I ask as we walk around the lake.
"Malfoy," she answers.
"So you figured it out," I state.
"So it is true?" She asks me.
"Yes," I answer.
"How is he your mate? He is a Slytherin, and if Harry is right a..." she stops talking.
"I don’t know how mates are picked, and I admit. I was upset when I first found out. But I have gotten to know Draco. Yes, he is a spoiled daddy's boy and can be a prat. But he cares for his family a lot, especially his mother. And he is smart, handsome, and I don't regret him being my mate," I tell her.
"Aren't most Slytherins engaged?" She asks me.
"He was, but his mother herself annulled it when she found out we are mates. Draco didn't even know, then we were mates, " I state.
"He does now?" She asks me.
"Yes, he only found out recently and is still processing. Being friends with a part vampire is one thing. But being one's mate is another" I state.
"Are you happy?" She asks me. I nod my head soberly. "I am sorry about what happened between him and Harry," she states.
"I hate it, I hate being neutral. Having people I care about on both sides. I hate it, " I tell her.
"I am sorry you're in this position," she tells me.
"It's not your fault," I tell her. "We should go study if we want to watch the final match on Saturday," I state. She agrees and we go to the library.
(Time skip)
So since Harry couldn't play as he has detention with Professor Snape. Ginny is playing seeker for the match. While Dean came back to play chaser. The final match is Gryffindor against Ravenclaw. With how bad we lost against Hufflepuff and with the current scores. Gryffindor needs to win over 300 points to win the game and Quidditch cup.
"Do you think we stand a chance?" Raquelle asks.
"There is always a chance. Harry has put together an amazing team. As long as they all work together, Gryffindor stands a chance, " I state.
"I hope you're right, I have 5 galleons on the match," Sean states.
"Who are you betting with?" I ask.
"Grim," he answers. Soon, both teams come out onto the pitch. Ginny shakes wands with Cho, the current Ravenclaw captain. Before both teams take to the sky. Madame Hooch blows her whistle and releases the balls. The game begins.
I admit we had a little trouble in the beginning. But then Gryffindor got their act together. It was a good match. Gryffindor won 450 to 140. We were having a party in the common room when Harry returned. He and Ginny kissed each other. Ron said nothing, and now Harry is dating Ginny. At least they will be dating soon. I wonder when Hermione and Ron will finally pull their act together? I give them another year, at least.
"Where are you going, Riana? " Raquelle asks.
"For a walk," I state and leave the common room. I head for the seventh floor. "Should you not still be resting?" I ask Draco. He jumps startled.
"Why are you here?" He asks me.
"I was going to check on you and tell you about the match," I state.
"Gryffindor won, didn't they?" He asks me.
"Yes, 450 to 140, and Harry wasn't even playing," I state.
"He wasn't? " he asks me, confused.
"He had detention with Snape because of what happened," I state. "We're you punished? " I ask him.
"Just lost some house points, no big deal," he states. "I have to finish patrol. You should head back to your common room. I am sure there is a party going on, " he adds.
"There is," I agree. "Take it easy, Draco. I would hate to see your wounds reopen," I tell him.
"I will be fine," he assures me. "Good night, Riana," he says. I wish him a good night and return to the common room. I decided not to rejoin the party and head up to my dorm. I got ready for bed and called it a night.
