Riana's POV

It is September first and I am on my way back to Hogwarts. Along with the others. Including my charges from last year Raquelle and Sean. We're in a compartment with their friends when Ginny appears. "I'm so glad you're ok" I say hugging her. "How is your family?" I ask her.

"Fine, we're all fine" she states. "Can I have a word?" she asks.

"Of course" I tell her and turn to the others. "Remain here" I tell them and leave with Ginny. We go to a compartment where Luna and Neville are waiting. "Neville, Luna lovely to see you both. It's very brave what your father is doing Luna" I praise.

"Thank you" she says with a smile.

"Haven't heard from you all summer" Neville states.

"I know, it sucks" I tell him with a sigh looking out the window. "Why the meeting?" I ask them. Ginny sound proofs the compartment and locks the door. Shutting the blinds.

"We want to recreate Dumbledore's army" she states.

"Guys, you know I wish I could join you. But I must remain neutral, at least until New Years" I tell them.

"What's happening new years? And why are you neutral?" Neville asks me confused.

"She's a vampire, well part-vampire" Luna tells him and he looks surprised.

"I am and vampires are neutral in this war. I went against the council when I joined you guys at the ministry in our fifth year. I can't anger them again if I wish to convince them to fight" I state.

"Will they listen to you?" Ginny asks me.

"I hope so" I tell her. "We are having another meeting on New Years Eve. A decision will be made then if we remain neutral or take a side" I state. "But know, I support you all and want you know who defeated" I tell them.

"Could you help in the shadows?" Neville asks me. "You don't need to fight, just take over training us" he states.

"I think that'd be ok, as long as my charges were in the group I am training" I state.

"We are planning on recruiting more members and doing our part" Neville states.

"Starting with stealing the sword of gryffindor" Ginny adds.

"That'll be very dangerous" I tell them.

"Dumbledore left it to Harry, it doesn't belong to Snape" Ginny states.

"The less I know of your plans the better" I tell them. "But I will help train, in secret. No one can know it is me though" I tell them.

"I'm sure we can think of something" Luna states. The train stops. I unlock the door and leave. I head to my compartment as deatheaters appear.

"He's not here" I sneer at them. One goes for their wand, but the other stops him.

"We can't attack her, she is a part vampire. Attacking her would turn the vampires against us" the wizard tells him.

"Good to see one of you has a brain" I state. "Now, Harry is not here. So get lost" I tell them and reenter my compartment.

The rest of the train ride was uneventful. When we arrived, the first years still went by boat. While the rest of us went by carriage. We're then lead into the hall like bloody soldiers and are made to take our seats. The first years are sorted and Snape stands to address us before the feast. "Good evening, I know the speech usually happens after the first. But with recent developments, I think it best we get it over with quickly" Snape states.

"Allow me to introduce our new deputy heads. The Carrows, they are also your new dark arts and muggle studies teacher. Both classes are compulsory for all students. The Carrows are also in charge of punishment. Any students misbehaving, must be sent to them for punishment" he explains gesturing to a man and woman. Deatheaters I thought.

"I am also reinstating Educational Decree Number Twenty-Four. For those not familiar with it, allow me to explain" he drawls. "All Student Organisations, Societies, Teams, Groups, and Clubs are henceforth disbanded. An Organisation, Society, Team, Group, or Club is hereby defined as a regular meeting of three or more students. Permission to re-form may be sought from me. No Student Organisation, Society, Team, Group, or Club may exist without the knowledge and approval of me. Any student found to have formed, or to belong to, an Organisation, Society, Team, Group, or Club that has not been approved by the High Inquisitor will be expelled" he explains.

"That being said, there will be no inter-house quidditch competition this year" he states. "Now that is all, let the feast begin" he tells us. Before sitting down at the food appears. I didn't eat much, neither did anyone else from Gryffindor, Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw. The feast soon ends.

"Come" I tell my charges and go to leave with them. When one of the Carrows approaches us. "Can I help you?" I ask him as I stand in front of my charges.

"The headmaster wishes to see you" he sneers.

"Very well" I say and look at my charges. "Return to the common room, I shall see you later" I tell them. They nod and leave with their friends. "I'll head to his office" I tell Carrow.

"I am to escort you" he states.

"I know the way" I sneer. "Just need the password" I tell him.

"I'll escort her" Snape states joining us. "Go patrol" he tells Carrow. Who leaves. "Please follow me" he tells me. I do so. We soon reach the gargoyle guarding the Head Masters office. "Pureblood" he says and we are let up.

"What do you want Snape?" I ask him.

"I take it you are neutral" he says as he sits at Dumbledore's old desk. Behind which is a portrait of a sleeping Dumbledore.

"Yes" I say and he nods his head.

"Know that while I remain headmaster, no harm will come to you or the other two" he tells me. "The dark lord does not wish to make an enemy of vampires" he states. "But know that doesn't mean you are safe. He can change his mind at anytime and have you three taken hostage. To try blackmail vampires into siding with him" he tells me.

"Thanks for the warning" I tell him. "Doesn't mean I trust you" I add.

"I don't expect you too" he states. "You may leave, curfew is after the feast" he tells me. "No student is to be in the corridors" he states and hands me a note.

"Good evening, professor" I say and leave. As I walk to gryffindor tower I see the new password written on the note. I burn it and use the secret passage ways to get to the Fat Lady's portrait undetected. I say the new password and enter. My charges are relieved and I assured them I am fine. We then went to Sean's room and I told them what Snape tod me. "So keep your heads down and avoid angering the Carrows" I tell them. They nod their heads.

I then decide to call it a night. It felt strange going to bed. Without Hermione in the bed next to mine. I sigh and roll over to look out the window. Before drifting off into a dreamless sleep.
