Riana's POV
It is time for Harry's game as Quidditch Captain. He has been working the team hard. But Ron is a nervous wreck like usual. Honestly, you'd think after helping lead Gryffindor to a victory last year. He wouldn't be so nervous anymore. But no, he is more nervous than the 4 newbies on the team.
You heard right, four newbies. Katie got cursed when touching a cursed necklace last Hogsmeade visit. She is currently in Saint Mungo's. Dean is taking her place until she returns. Then you have the 2 new beaters and other new chaser. But Ron is more nervous than all four combined, and that is saying something.
While I enjoy breakfast, let me catch you up on recent events. Harry has been having private lessons with Dumbledore. Learning about Voldemort's past, I don’t see the point. But Hermione finds it fascinating. I haven't heard much about them as I have been swamped with my wand making classes and vampire studies. Not to mention all my other classes. Raquelle and Sean have settled in well at Hogwarts. Though they will be going home for Christmas.
"Don’t drink it, Ron," Hermione says, pulling me from my thoughts. I look at them confused. A glass of pumpkin juice in Ron's hands.
"Why not?" he asks her, confused. As she looks at Harry in disbelief. She accuses him of putting something in Ron's drink. I frown confused.
"Excuse me?" Harry asks, fawning innocence.
"You heard me, I saw you. You just tipped something into Ron's drink. You've got the bottle in your hand right now, " she states. I watch Harry put the bottle into his pocket. Isn't that the lucky potion he got from Professor Slughorn? Harry is apparently an 'expert' potion maker now.
"Ron, I warn you. Don't drink it, " Hermione tells him. But he downs the glass and tells her to stop bossing him around. Hermione has a whispered conversation with Harry before storming off. I follow her.
"It will be fine, Hermione," I assure her.
"They both could be expelled," she tells me.
"Perhaps, if Harry had spiked the drink," I tell her.
"You think he didn't?" Hermione asks.
"You only saw him tip the bottle. But did you see anything ho into the pumpkin juice? Or notice if the small bottle was missing ant contents? " I ask her. She frowns. "What if Harry only wanted Ron to think he'd spiked it to build his confidence? " I ask her. "You know he is a good keeper when he has confidence in himself. It doesn’t matter how much confidence we have in his abilities. If he has none himself, he is a terrible keeper, " I state.
"We need to talk to Harry again after the match," she tells me. I nod my head in agreement. We head down to the pitch together and take our seats. We are joined by Raqulle and Sean, along with their two friends. Alys and Grim. I introduced them all to Hermione. All of them are excited to see their first Quidditch match.
Soon, the stands are full, and both teams come out onto the pitch. Harry shakes hands with the Slytherin captain. Before both teams take to the sky and the game begins. The new commentator, Zacharias Smith, introduces both teams. Slytherin got possession of the quaffle and headed towards Ron. Who blocked the score, and now Gryffindor is in possession.
Half an hour later, the score is 60 to nil. Gryffindor is killing it, and Ron has made some amazing saves. Some by the tips of his gloves and Ginny scored four of Gryffindors' six goals so far. When Smith started to pick on one of the new beaters, Coote showed off his impressive aim, hitting Harper of Slytherin.
It seems as though Gryffindor was on a winning strike. Ron continued to save every goal. Gryffindor continued to score more points. But then Harper spotted the snitch first. "Oi, Harper! How much did Malfoy pay you to come on instead of him?" Harry calls. Causing Harper to do a double take and fumble the snitch. Allowing Harry to catch it. Gryffindor won 250 points to zero.
That night, there was a party in the common room. Hermione and I spoke to Harry. He revealed that he had never spiked Ron's drink. Ron only thought he had. Ron heard and was surprised. He and Hermione had another fight. I followed Hermione and calmed her down. Convincing her to come to the party. Which was a mistake.
When we arrived, we saw Ron making out with Lavender Brown. Hermione left, and Harry followed her. I go join Ginny. "Knew, she liked him," I mutter.
"Only took her this long to figure it out," she whispers back. "What about you, do you like anyone?" She asks me.
"It's complicated," I tell her.
"He dating someone else?" She asks. I shake my head. "Then what is it?" She sdks me confused.
"He only sees me as a friend and thinks the thought of us dating is laughable. But by he is my soul mate. So we will be together one day, just not now, " I tell her .
"It's Malfoy, isn't it?" She asks me. "I saw you both last Valentine's Day in Hogsmeade," she states. I just nod my head. "I know he is a Slytherin, and his father is a deatheater, but I hope it works out," she tells me. I smile. "Our secret," she says, and we lock pinkies. Before enjoying the party. I go to bed late, but at least I had fun. I hope Ron dumps Lavender, and Hermione can admit she has feelings for him now. But they are both stubborn, it may take a couple of months.
