Riana's POV
It is the last day before Christmas break and time for Slughorn's Christmas party. I invited Draco, but he never confirmed if he was coming. Harry is coming with Luna, Ginny with Dean, and Hermione is coming with Cormac. She wants to make Ron jealous, but she is gonna regret it.
Tomorrow, I will be taking a port key home. Along with Raquelle and Sean. Instead of the train. Anyway, I am in a blue dress for tonight and have styled my hair. As I walk to the party with the other two, allow me to catch you up on what's happened since the Quidditch match.
Ron and Lavender are still together. They only ever seem to make out. No talking or getting to know each other. I am sure they will be over before we finish our sixth year. Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw had their Quidditch match, which Hufflepuff won. Harry is still having secret lessons with Dumbledore. Katie is still at the hospital. And that's pretty much it.
"Lady Riana, you look lovely," Eldred Worple says.
"Thank you, Mr Worple. I read your book. Thank you for keeping your word, " I tell him.
"Of course, now who are these two?" He asks.
"Raquelle and Sean, they are like me, and this is their first year at Hogwarts," I tell him. "Guy, this is Mr Worple. He wrote the newest vampire book, " I tell them. They greet him politely. "Good evening, uncle," I say.
"Good evening, my darling niece," he says. "I am surprised your beloved is not present," he states.
"I invited him, I also invited him to our ball. But he never confirmed for either, " I tell him.
"It is an honour to meet you again, Lord Sanguini," Raquelle and Sean say.
"The honour is mine. Your parents and uncle asked me to check on you both before I left tonight. I can see you both are doing well, " he says with a smile.
"There you are, Riana," Professor Slughorn says. "I trust you all are enjoying the party?" He asks us.
"Yes, it is quite pleasant," I assure him.
"Excellent, please mingle, and have a good night," he tells us. Before going to greet Harry and Luna.
"How long must we stay?" Sean asks.
"One lap around the room," I tell him. We all head off to mingle with the other guests. I see Hermione avoiding Cormac, who tried to kiss her under the mistletoe. Knew she'd regret it. I will save her later. I see Worple trying to convince Harry to let him write his biography. But I also noticed my uncle looks hungry, staring at a group of girls. "Uncle," I say and hand him a blood pop. "Control yourself," I tell him.
"My apologies, me niece, thank you," he says. "I think I will leave soon," he states. I nod my head in understanding. It is harder for him to control himself around so many humans in a room. Being a full vampire. Just then, Filch drags Draco into the room. He tells Slughorn that Draco claims to have been invited to the party.
"He was," I state as I step forward. "Draco is my plus one," I tell them.
"Then he is welcome to stay," Slughorn states.
"Thank you, Professor," Draco says as Filch leaves.
"It's nothing. Besides, I did know your grandfather, and you were invited," Slughorn states.
"He always spoke highly of you," Draco tells him.
"I am glad you could make it, Draco," I say with a small smile.
"I wouldn't miss it," he assures me.
"By the way, there will be a carriage waiting for you Christmas Eve night in the clock tower courtyard at 6:30. If you are coming, just be in it before 7" I will him. He nods his head. Just then, Snape joins us and asks to take to Draco in private. I nod my head and they leave the party together.
"Still not courting, I see," my uncle says.
"No, but his mother knows and annulled his marriage contract," I tell him.
"That's something, at least," he mutters. "I shall se3 you at home," he tells me. I nod my head and leave to say his farewells. I find Hermione, Luna, Raquelle, and Sean. And we all leave the party.
"I see why you don't like going," Raquelle tells me.
"Yes, it was very dule," Sean adds.
"Still you get to meet some interesting people," Hermione tells them. They shrug. We part with Luna on the staircases. Hermione says the password and we all go into the common room. We bid the other two goodnight and go to our dorm room. We changed and got ready for bed. "Did you really invite Malfoy?" She asks me.
"Yes and before you ask, it's complicated" I tell her.
"Vampires are still neutral, right?" She asks.
"Yes, why?" I ask her.
"Harry thinks Draco is a deatheater" she tells me.
"That is absurd, Draco would never become a deatheater. Not even if his life depended on it" I state.
"What his parents?" She asks.
"His father maybe, his mother definitely " I tell her. "Does Harry have any proof?" I ask her.
"Nothing concrete, but he won't stop until he does" she tells me. "I just thought you should know, good night" she says. I wish her a good night and we both go to sleep.
