Riana's POV

I wake up and squeal. I run over to Hermione's bed and start to jump on  it. "Wake up, it's Christmas Morning!" I cheer feeling giddy. I'm so excited to spend Christmas as Hogwarts with my best friends.

"The sun hasn't even risen yet" she groans.

"But it's Christmas morning" I whine as I kneel beside her poking her cheek.

"You're not going to leave me alone until I get up are you?" she asks me.

"Nope" I say popping the 'p'. She groans but gets up. We go to our presents and I hand her the one from me. "Merry Christmas" I state.

"Thank you" she says with a tired smile and opens it. To see a book on updated counter-curses. "Wow, here's my gift to you" she states handing me a gift. I open it to see a pack of blood lollipops and a new wand polishing kit.

"Wow, thanks Hermione" I say with a smile. We open the rest of our presents, then take turns using the bathroom. I let her go first as I did wake her up before the sun had risen. But it's now eight and the sun is up.

I take my turn in the bathroom. I change into my day clothes putting on my new Weasley jumper. Hermione and I then decide to go see the boys. She grabs Crookshanks and I notice the tinsel around his neck & chuckle.

We go down into the common room. Then up the other set of stairs to the boy dorms. We find the third year door and enter. To hear laughter. "Merry Christmas" I cheer as Hermione asks what they're laughing about. "Is that a firebolt?!" I squeal rushing to Harry's side.

"Sure is" he says with a chuckle.

"Can I hold it, please?" I plead and he nods his head. I grab it and hug it. "I wish I had a broom like this" I say in awe as I examine it. "Who sent it? Maybe I can ask them for one" I tell him.

"No idea. There wasn't a card or anything with it" he tells me.

"Bummer" I groan. "Can I fly it?" I ask him.

"I get the first go after Harry" Ron states.

"I don't think anyone should ride that broom just yet!" Hermione says shrilly and I pout at her.

"What d'you think Harry's going to do with it -- sweep the floor?" Ron asks her. But before Hermione could answer, Crookshanks sprang from a bed, right at Ron's chest. "Get Him Out of Here!" Ron yells. I rush forward and grab Crookshanks pulling him off of Ron. I hold him to my chest as I head over to Hermione.

"Lets get out of here" I tell her and she nods her head. We leave the dorm and head back to ours. "So why can't we read Harry's brand new Firebolt?" I ask her confused.

"I fear it was sent by Sirius Black, why else would there be no note or card?" she asks me.

"I see your point, but hope you're wrong. I really want to ride that broom" I tell her. We place Crookshanks in our dorm and leave him there shutting the door behind us. We head down to the great hall for breakfast. I look around in awe.

"Great isn't it?" she asks me and I nod my head. I notice all the tables are gone. A single table, set for twelve, stood in the middle of the room. Professors Dumbledore, McGonagall, Snape, Sprout, and Flitwick were there. Along with Filch, who had taken off his usual brown coat and was wearing a very old and rather moldy-looking tailcoat. There were only two extremely nervous-looking first years.

"Merry Christmas" Dumbledore tells us with a smile. "As there are so few of us, it seemed foolish to use the House tables...Sit down, sit down" he tells us. We do so and the boys soon join us. We all start to ate when Christmas crackers appear.

Dumbledore offers the end of a large silver noisemaker to Snape. Who took it reluctantly and tugged. With a bang like a gunshot, the cracker flew apart to reveal a large, pointed witches hat topped with a stuffed vulture. I bite my bottom lip to stop myself from laughing, remembering the lesson on Boggarts. Snape's mouth thinned and he pushed the hat toward Dumbledore, who swapped it for his wizard's hat at once.

"Where's Professor Lupin?" I ask just realizing he is not present.

"I'm afraid the poor fellow is ill again, most unfortunate that it should happen on Christmas Day" Dumbledore answers. Oh yeah, it was a full moon last night. Poor Lupin, I'll stop by later and give him some chocolate. We finish our breakfast and I leave with the boys.

"Riana, can I talk to you in private?" Harry asks me.

"Sure, see you later Ron" I say and Ron leaves looking confused. Harry and I go into an empty classroom. "What's up Harry?" I ask him curious.

"I saw you buy blood lollipops that day in Hogsmeade, I was wondering why" he states.

"Can you keep a secret? You can't tell anyone, not even Ron. Only Hermione and the staff know" I tell him.

"Of course, your secret is safe with me" he assures me.

"I'm a part-vampire, the blood pops were for me" I state.

"Oh, I thought you just knew a vampire" he says scratching the back of his neck.

"You aren't scared of me now are you?" I ask him.

"Of course not" he assures me. "Just surprised" he states and gives me a hug. "I won't tell anyone" he tells me.

"Thank you" I say with a smile. "Lets head back to the common room, I want to see the firebolt again" I tell him. He smiles and we race back. He grabs the firebolt and brings it into the common room. We just sit on the couch admiring it with Ron.

Until Hermione appears and starts to read a book upside down. Suddenly Professor McGonagall enters the room and examines the broom. Asking Harry some questions, before taking it for it to be stripped down and checked for jinxes. The boys got angry at Hermione. She storms out of the room and I follow her. As Ron was Harry's first friend, I was her's. I'll stand by her side until the boys grow up and apologize.
