Riana's POV
Turns out the person who died. Was Dumbledore. I couldn't believe it, Dumbledore dead? The only man Voldermort ever feared, gone. The only one who could come up with a way to defeat Voldemort is dead. How will we survive without him? How will good win without Dumbledore to lead them? How will the council react to this?
I heard that it was Professor Snape who had killed Dumbledore. Harry had seen him do it. I can't believe he'd betray Dumbledore like this. After everything Dumbledore has done for him. Something tells me there is more to this then any of us know. We all know he trusted Snape, but not why. With him gone, Voldemort will drop his guard. This could be the others chance to defeat him. But this would also by Voldemort's chance to take more power. This is a very dangerous time for us all.
Bill had been hurt by Greyback. He now has a scar on his face. But Fleur still loves him unconditionally, they are getting married this summer. I am invited. Neville was injured also, but he'll live. Still no sign of Snape. He'd fled with the deatheaters after killing Dumbledore. Draco went with them. I pray he is ok.
All lessons were suspended, all examinations postponed. Some students were hurried away from Hogwarts by their parents over the next couple of days. Raquelle and Sean included. Along with their friends. My uncle tried to take me home. But I refused, I will attend Dumbledore's funeral. He was the best headmaster this school ever had. He deserves to be honored. He agrees and promised to collect me from the station.
Many people have turned up for Dumbledore's funeral. Witches and wizards from all over the world have come to pay their respects. Including the Minister of Magic and other ministry officials. I got up and made sure everything was packed. Before putting on a black dress for the funeral. I put on some black flats and head down to the great hall. The mood in the Great Hall subdued. Everybody was wearing their dress robes and no one seemed very hungry. Professor McGonagall had left the throne-like chair in the middle of the staff table empty.
She soon rose from her seat. "It's nearly time" she tells us. "Please follow your Heads of Houses out into the grounds. Gryffindors, after me" she instructs. I follow her with the other Gryffindors down to the lake. Hundreds of chairs had been set out in rows. An aisle ran down the center of them: There was a marble table standing at the front, all chairs facing it. It was the most beautiful summer's day.
An extraordinary assortment of people had already settled into half of the chairs; shabby and smart, old and young. We all take our seats. The merepeople start to sing under the surface of the lake. As Hagrid walked slowly up the aisle between the chairs. He was crying quite silently, his face gleaming with tears, and in his arms, wrapped in purple velvet spangled with golden stars, was what Harry knew to be Dumbledore's body.
He lays him on the table in front of the chairs and takes a seat. A little tufty-haired man in plain black robes had got to his feet and stood now in front of Dumbledore's body. Gave the eulogy. The merepeople rose to listen as we all watch in silence. The little man in black had finished speaking at last and resumed his seat.
Bright, white flames had erupted around Dumbledore's body and the table upon which it lay: Higher and higher they rose, obscuring the body. White smoke spiraled into the air and made strange shapes. I see a phoenix fly joyfully into the blue, but next second the fire had vanished. In its place was a white marble tomb, encasing Dumbledore's body and the table on which he had rested.
There were a few more cries of shock as a shower of arrows soared through the air, but they fell far short of the crowd. It had been the centaurs with their tribute to Dumbledore. I raise and approach the tomb and lay a single dracula orchid on it. "We won't forget your kindness headmaster" I state. Before taking my seat.
People start to mingle. Each going up to pay their respects to Dumbledore's tomb. "Riana" Lupin says as he appears with Tonks.
"Congrats you two and I am sorry for not attending" I tell them.
"It's fine" Tonks assures me.
"Where do you stand?" Remus asks me. I know he is really asking where do vampires stand.
"I don't know" I tell him. "It's very complicated" I state. "Please save my grandfather and don't hurt Draco or his mother" I tell them lowly.
"He's your..." Remus starts to say.
"Yes, but it doesn't matter. I am neutral" I state. He knows I meant vampires. "Take care of each and Harry. My friends. I trust you" I tell them. I hug them and leave. I board the train with the others. As promised my uncle was at the station. I said my goodbyes and left with him. Praying that my friends would be safe, that Draco is safe, and that this war ends soon.
