The tension in the room was at its max as I glared at this man who was just looking back at me with an analyzing look. I wasn't bothered by the fact that he was scrutinizing every detail of my body, I was more disturbed by the fact that he was so...relaxed. You'd think he'd be on guard just a little but he seems to have made himself right at home.

In my time being face to face with the man, I guess you could say he was a decent looking human being. His sharp eyes were the same color as his group name and his hair was that of a deep brown. It was wavy and his bangs, though silky, were neatly parted out of his face. I could see some kind of scar peeking out from his collar and for a second wondered how he got it before shaking the thought out of my head.

I wasn't going to know him long enough or well enough to ever find out nor did I want to.

"I know we may have got off to a bad start, what with my men taking you prisoner and all but I'd honestly like to start over. Doesn't that sound good?" he stated, a charming smile crossed his face as if trying to relieve the tension.

But I wasn't having it.

"No"

"Well, I think it does. I'll go first. My name is Eros Azure and as this is a new slate, I'll need you to introduce yourself. Honestly" one look at this guy's face and hearing the tone of his words, I knew he'd made me. Those few minutes he took to just stare at me must have been when so I'm guessing he's actually met Noel before if he could pick out our differences so easily.

"I don't want to know you or allow you to know me. Kill me, be killed, or leave" I said. I was tired of his friendly gestures and that annoying smile on his face as if he knew everything. It made me feel like I was his food that he was playing with before devouring me.

"How nice of you to have sparing my life as an option but what are you so ready to die for? There's nothing to do in the after life anyways" Eros said with an unimpressed look on his face.

If I died then that'd mean I'd be eternally free, I wouldn't have to worry about anything and I could just do whatever it is they do in the afterlife. Seemed like a pretty decent option to me.

"You know, you and your...brother, yes?" when I didn't correct him, Eros continued.

"Well, the two of you are nothing alike. You're so ready to die while he'd be cowering at my feet begging for his life. Actually, he wouldn't have even made it out of that room and yet somehow you did" Eros stated.

He was right, my brother is a coward but I decided to ignore that tidbit.

"Didn't need to be there" I said and Eros chuckled.

"Tell me, do you have any idea why I wanted your brother brought to that warehouse?" He asked.

"Leverage" was all I said but I was surprised when Eros shook his head.

"Two weeks ago, your father murdered a very dear friend of mine. So, I was simply going to return the favor by killing his...only son but plans have seemed to change" Eros explained and I didn't know how to react when hearing of Eros' plans to kill my brother.

I didn't want to process it, I was far too tired but I forced myself to try. Noel was going to pay for a mistake that our father made and I couldn't help but want to ask why our father murdered Eros' friend. Did he know that friend was apart of Eros' group? Didn't he care for the repercussions that would come with that?

"I would really like to know your name so I can stop calling you Noel 2.0 in my head" Eros suddenly said and I sighed deciding that telling him my name wasn't going to be the end of the world.

"...Cole" I muttered and a delighted look crossed his features.

"I can see how easy it is to mix the two of you up, that must have come in handy during your youth" Eros said with a chuckle but I couldn't find the humor in that. If anything, a feeling of bitterness resonated with the statement as I remembered that my life has never actually been mine.

"Not really" the words slipped out before I could realize and kind of expectedly, Eros was looking at me with intrigue.

"Oh?" He said with a perfectly shaped brow raised.

"I'm just his...doppelgänger" I said vaguely.

"I see. I can't say that I understand why you're in this position, but I'd like to be the one to take you out of it. Would you become one of mine?" I was just thinking about how I was thankful that Eros wasn't going to pry but his last words threw me all the way off and for the first time our entire conversation, I felt shocked.

"I beg your damn pardon?" I said in disbelief but Eros just laughed it off.

"Sorry, sorry. I should have phrased it better. I would like you to join the Azure Dragons" he said and I became even more shocked.

"What..."

This man had balls. Big ones.

I couldn't believe he was really sitting here trying to recruit me. Eros doesn't seem to be someone who is unprepared ever, so that means he's willing to fight when the time comes that my father has learned of this. And not only would Eros' head be on the line, but mine as well.

Betraying your group is basically signing your death warrant. It's the highest act of treason one could ever commit, especially if you're a family member of the head.

Seeing that I was still shocked, Eros went on to explain himself.

"I was told what went down in that room. Using the bucket? Gross but creative. You think on your feet and waste no time getting things done as my face is clear evidence of that. I'd be stupid to kill someone with such potential" Eros said and I almost snorted at his assumption.

"You're stupid to think keeping me alive is smart. I'd kill you in a heartbeat if given the chance" I said and the smirk that Eros wore irked my soul to the end of the earth.

"Yet here we've been for the past half hour having a somewhat pleasant conversation. You could have used that knife the moment I stepped through the door" He said.

I said nothing.

"I'll give you some time to think about it. Don't worry about contact methods, I'll come find you when I've deemed you've had enough time" Eros said and stood up.

I don't want to contact you anyways...

I watched as he straightened his clothes and headed for the door. I was grateful that he was finally leaving, I wasn't sure how much longer I could take being in the same room as that annoying face of his.

Suddenly, he stopped as if having just remembered something and turned back to me.

"Did you mean it when you said your dick was small?" He asked. I was extremely tempted to throw my knife at him but I just glared instead.

"Get out"
