"Okay Tommy, so I'm going to sign you up for daily lessons with me and Techno." Bad said, handing him a piece of paper. Tommy skimmed over the neat hand writing and saw an unknown name.

"Who is Philza?" He asked, squinting and wondering whether he had said the name right.

"Oh, he is the flight expert in the HQ. He taught Wilbur to fly too." Bad said, smiling.

"Talk about Wilbur, do you know where he is?" Tommy asked. He hadn't seen his brother since yesterday.

"Fundy informed me Wilbur had put together a team to find Puffy. He wanted to know at what facility she is being held... whether she is still alive." Bad said softly.

Tommy nodded. What had his results been for the scan?

"Bad, what kind of hybrid do you think I am?" Tommy asked suddenly. He didn't know where question had come from or why he had decided to voice his thoughts, but he felt he could trust Bad.

Bad B. Halo looked him over thoughtfully and Tommy saw to his relief Bad took his question seriously.

"I'm not sure, Tommy, we have many strange hybrids. We have a guy called Sam and he is a creeper hybrid." Bad said smiling.

"Like from that game? Minecraft?" Tommy grinned.

"Yeah, I know, but see he has green square markings on his skin and has explosive powers. It actually really funny when you think about it."

Tubbo burst into the room and looked at Bad.

"Are you guys done?" He asked.

Bad nodded and stood, Tommy doing the same.

"We just finished up, Tubbo, could you please take Tommy to his last class?" Bad asked, laying a hand on Tommy's shoulder.

"Yeah, is it Phil?" Tubbo asked, one eyebrow raised and a sly smile on his face.

"Yes." Bad said and winked at Tommy.

Tommy was just confused.

"What?" He asked, glancing between the two. Bad just mailed lightly while Tubbo grinned mischievously.

"You'll see."

With that Tubbo strutted from the room, leaving Tommy to wave a quick goodbye to Bad and following him.

What had he gotten himself into?

"Okay, Tommy, remember, looks aren't everything." Tubbo said as he knocked on another door. Tommy wondered what it held behind it.

Another training hall? Strange plants that moved by themselves. Tommy was sure at this point nothing could surprise him.

The door opened and a man stood before them. He wore loose green robes and a dark turtle neck beneath it. He had a white and green striped bucket hat on his head, golden locks peeking from beneath it. His blue eyes sparkled kindly at Tommy.

"Hello Tubbo," The man spoke with a distinct British accent. "Is this Wil's brother?"

Wil. So this man must be a very good friend of his brother's to be able to call him that.

"Yeah." Tubbo said and turned to Tommy. "Enjoy, Tommy!"

He waved and skipped down the hall and out of sight.

Philza turned his gaze back to Tommy and held out his hand.

"I'm Philza, but you can call me Phil."

"Tommy." Tommy said and clasped the man's hand.

"Well then, come on in Tommy, let's begin working those marvelous wings of yours."

"You're going to teach me how to fly?"

To be honest, Tomm had always wanted to fly. He had always envied the birds above him. They were so free, aloft and above the problems the world toned.

Now he could learn to do just that.

"Yeah, mate." Philza turned around and walked down a short hall. Tommy was surprised to find that it didn't have a hall or a room. It simply ended in a balcony. Before them lay the cavern. They were high up against one of the walls, the ground maybe fifty meters beneath them.

"So, how do I fly?" Tommy asked, looking down at the ground.

"Like this."

Tommy's mouth fell open as two glorious wings appeared from the folds beneath Phil's cloak. They glimmered an amethyst purple in the light, the wings as black as obsidian, seeming to suck the light from the air.

Philza spread the to their full length and turned his back to the drop.

He winked at Tommy before falling backwards, vanishing over the edge. Tommy leapt forward on instinct and tried to grab the man but he was too late. He watched as Philza plummeted to the ground.

Philza pulled his wings in at the last second and flipped around, spreading them seconds before hitting the ground and turned his fall into momentum, shooting upwards with a few powerful strokes. He curved around gracefully and came to land on the balcony, settling with a few back strokes.

"I could learn to do that?" Tommy asked breathlessly. That had been one of the most beautiful things he had ever seen.

Philza grinned at him.

"Yes."

"How do I start?" Tommy asked.

Philza looked him straight in the eyes a small smile playing on his lips.

"See this drop, mate?" He said flicking his gaze to the cliff that stretched beneath.

Tommy nodded.

"Jump."

Tommy froze at the word and glanced at Philza questioningly. There was not a doubt in those blue eyes.

He had to jump.

Carefully, Tommy opened his wings, stretching the muscles experimentally. They didn't hurt nearly as much as the rest of his body and were quite stiff from being folded all day.

He glanced back to the balcony and grabbed the edge, hauling himself onto it and balancing on the fence. He opened his wings behind him and took a deep breath in, steeling his nerves.

He opened his eyes and leapt.
