You had sat back, letting the surface dwellers pass by without a fuss. Just because the rest of the Ashen Wolves wanted to fight, didn't mean you had to as well. You didn't want to fight. Especially if the order was given by Yuri. Anything you could do to get under his skin was a plus. Not that anything ever really worked for you.
That was a few weeks ago. Now the Ashen Wolves we're technically disbanded. Thankfully Byleth has seen it fit to recruit you all to the Blue Lions house. You didn't really care about going to knight school or anything like that. You were just glad you had something to keep your mind occupied.
But you should have asked who the students were before agreeing.
Now your days consisted of avoiding Yuri and Sylvain. You also avoided everyone else too. But that was just because you didn't like people all that much. Being alone always suited you better.
"Are you honestly hiding under a table?" The unamused drawl of your former House Leader met your ears. He was kneeling in front of the table you were hiding under.
You barely looked away from your book as you answered him, "There aren't any people under tables."
"You're right." You heard him affirm, which surprised you. He was actually going to agree and leave you alone for once? No, no. That would be too good to be true. "There weren't any people under tables."
Before you could ask what he was on about, he pushed his way into your personal space. Sitting down beside you much to your chagrin.
You closed your book with a spiteful snap! All the while Yuri just seemed to be enjoying himself. It was taking way too much self control to not insult him.
"What do you want?" you asked, upset.
Yuri put his hands up in mock surrender, "Can't I just worry about my friend's well being?"
You laughed. Genuinely laughed. A disdainful sound.
"We are not friends."
"Ouch." Yuri replied calmly, "As sharp-tongued as ever I see. But, honestly, you've been acting weird lately... What's the deal?"
"Since when is any of that your business?" You rolled your eyes, "If you must know. I regret coming to the surface. I'd rather just stay buried in abyss with the rest of the rejects."
Yuri scoffed, "Is the surface not what you remember it to be, your nobleness?" he mocked.
You stood up brusquely, barely missing hitting your head with the table. You left the book where it was and started making your way out of the library.
"Hey, where are you going?" You heard Yuri call out.
"Away from you!"
You were tired of everything really. It was as if reality itself was out to get you.
Disowned, thrown away, and right into the arms of the person who played the part of last nail in the coffin for you disownment.
And now back to the surface, faced with your past.
You were bitter, you wouldn't deny it. You also didn't care. You were bitter and you would be petty, that was already decided in your head.
Getting away from Yuri, you finally felt a bit less tense. That is until you bumped right into the only other person in Garreg Mach which you wanted to avoid. Honestly, was life out to get you?
You tried to keep walking. Hopefully he would just let you pass by and continue on with your day.
