You always loved training.

You weren't like other people;

Cough Hilda Cough;

That would rather have other people do the fighting for them when you were just as capable.

So you were training your lance technique with your best friend Leonie. It was hard work, but you were up to the task.

Besides, you needed to blow off some steam.

"You look really angry about something" said Leonie as she blocked your strike.

"What? No. I'm. Fine. Just. Training." you said punctuating each word with a swing of your lance.

Leonie called a time out. "Uh-huh. Sure. Now tell me what's actually bothering you.

You sighed and sat on the floor of the Training Grounds. Leonie joined you and waited for you to explain. "I'm just... Not happy." You started.

"Yeah, I could kinda tell."

You sighed again, "It's... It's Sylvain."

"Of course it was. When is it not? What did he do this time?" she asked. She was clearly used to this by now.

"Nothing, different. Not really." you tried to put your thoughts into words, "Well, he has been avoiding me more than usual."

"Isn't that a good thing."

"No. I mean, yes? I mean, I-- I don't know..." You were visibly exhausted by this dynamic. "I guess I'm just frustrated. I don't understand why he hates me so much."

"Sylvain can be really stupid sometimes. This one time I pretty much confirmed he doesn't see me as a girl. And I mean, I know I'm not that girly, but I'm still a girl." she said.

"He is such an idiot." you said, feeling a lot more comfortable voicing your outrage about this, rather than your own situation, "Leonie, you don't have to listen to him. You're super strong and really pretty. He doesn't know what he's missing."

Leonie laughed at that, "Thanks." Then she got a bit more serious. "You don't have to listen to him either you know. You can choose to ignore him."

You smiled a bit at Leonie and nodded, keeping your real thoughts hidden.

I could do that. But I can't afford to.

After finishing up training you said goodnight to Leonie and walked to the student dorms on the second floor. You were really tired. Almost tired enough to just forget about Sylvain and sleep peacefully.

Almost.

Besides it looked like you wouldn't be getting much sleep at the moment. Your sister seemed to have been waiting for you in the hallway.

"Y/N." she said with a slightly worried tone in her voice.

"Ingrid?"

"We need to talk."

"Uh-oh."

She led you into her room and you laid down on her bed. She may want to talk, but you want to sleep. Lying down was the next best thing.

"I got a letter from our father. He spoke to Margrave Gautier."

"What." you said shortly.

"He spoke to him about how Sylvain has been treating you..." she said, a bit worried as to what your response would be.

"What?!" You sat up on the bed in a panic.

"Calm down. Nothing bad happened." Ingrid tried to get you to calm down, but it wasn't really working.
