Takes place after "To be happy".
.
You knew this was coming. You still weren't prepared.
How could you be?
There stood the Flame Emperor unmasked. Your sister.
Facing her, Byleth, ready to attack at Rhea's command.
You looked at Ferdinand and hoped he understood the apology in your eyes.
"No!"
You ran forward, standing infront of Edelgard, facing Byleth.
"I won't let you harm her."
"Stand aside." Byleth said menacingly.
"I can't. I won't." you said determined.
"Hubert." You heard your sister say.
"Yes, Lady Edelgard."
As you were warped away you could barely make out the looks of betrayal from your classmates.
From Ferdinand.
.
As the years passed the war drew on without an end in sight.
Despite your undeniable support of Edelgard not a day passed by when Hubert did not question your allegiance.
Was it that hard to understand that regardless of your chosen side you couldn't be in the front lines? You were a healer! Not exactly front line material.
Thankfully Hubert had stayed behind while you and El traveled to Garreg Mach, for what you insisted was a terrible idea.
The Millennium Festival wouldn't be happening. The Empire had made that quite evident. Why were you here? Who was there to meet with?
Who would want to meet with you?
You accompanied your sister to the surrounding territory, but you refused to go with her inside. It was too painful.
You would much rather wait for her outside.
Incase anyone did come, you could at least avoid being seen.
"Y/N?"
Shoot.
You weighed your options. Running away seemed more and more alluring the more you thought of it.
"Please look at me."
You shut your eyes tightly.
"Just let me go..."
"You Highness, please."
You turned around with a pained look, "Do not call me that."
Ferdinand smiled gently, "I knew that would get your attention."
Seeing him again after all these years your heart skipped a beat. He was somehow even more dashing than you remembered.
He took a step forward.
You took a step back and held up your arms, "Stay back."
He was hurt by your words, but he held his ground, "I will not hurt you."
"I know..." you whispered sadly.
"You will not hurt me either." he answered softly.
"Leave... please." The words were painfully quiet.
"Come with me." he offered, as if it was that simple.
"I can not leave, El... It... It would break her. I can't do that to her."
