This takes place after, "The Locket".
.
The Golden Deer House had just won the battle of the Eagle and Lion. And now you were having a feast. It was all a bit overwhelming to be honest.
You still felt bad about the Thoron you had blasted Dimitri with, but he at least didn't seem mad about it. He actually looked rather proud.
You wanted to go talk to him, but the Dining Hall was complete caos. Happy caos, but caos nonetheless.
All the houses were here, chatting as if they weren't in anyway different from each other. It was heart-warming to see.
Although the best thing you had seen so far were your friends Bernie and Ignatz sharing art tips avoiding the mess that was the other students.
You had been with them, until you realized that you wanted to talk to Dimitri and excused yourself to go find him.
So now you were lost in a sea of very loud people looking for someone who you thought should be easier to find.
What was he, like 6 feet tall? Why couldn't you see him anywhere?
You were about to give up and head back to your friends when you noticed Claude near the kitchen, next to him was Dimitri.
It was actually a very funny situation. Claude was being... well, Claude, and he was subtly flirting with the Prince. You could tell he was just trying to get a reaction, which didn't seem to be working thanks to Dimitri's obliviousness.
You approached them with a smile, but before you could even talk, Claude wrapped an arm around your shoulders and pulled you towards him.
"If it isn't our little MVP? I've been dying to relive that glorious moment. Tell me, how does it feel to electrocute royalty?" he joked.
Your face has red with embarrassment and you hid behind your hands trying to pretend this wasn't happening.
To your relief Dimitri chuckled, "I'll admit, that caught me off guard."
"It got us the win and I didn't even need to poison anyone." Claude said with a laugh.
"Claude!" both you and Dimitri scolded.
Claude looked taken aback for a moment, "Woah, did anyone ever tell you, you two make the same face when your scolding people?"
In a panic, Dimitri glanced at you and you at him. You realized that was even more suspicious and tried to play it off hoping Claude didn't notice.
"Very funny, Claude." you said. Nice save, Y/N.
Dimitri, in a move that proved to you that being cool under pressure was hereditary, excused himself clumsily and walked away to talk to the nearest Blue Lion.
"Huh." Claude said, mostly to himself.
He then turned to you with a look you did not want to see on his face right now, "You said your mother raised you alone, right?"
"Yeah, but, what's with the question?" You felt uneasy.
"Oh, nothing." He winked. You did not like that look at all. "Well don't let me keep you from your other friends." he added.
A moment passed, "Uh, Claude."
"Hm?"
"Your arm." you added awkwardly.
"Oh." He quickly let go and you scurried away to go drown your anxiety in food.
.
Later that night you were in your room with a horrible stomach ache.
You heard a knock on your door, and hoped you were just hallucinating, because you really didn't want to get up. But the knock came again.
You groaned as you got up and open the door with a mix of sleepiness, irritation and pain.
The green eyes you were met with did help you feel a bit better at least.
"Claude Von Riegan. It's the middle of the night. Your going to wake people up and scare Bernie." you said as you pointed to the side. Knowing your friend next door, she would freak out if some loud noise suddenly woke her up.
"Oops." he said said not really looking apologetic. "I just had something I needed to ask you."
"And this couldn't wait for tomorrow, because?"
"Well, I was awake now, and I knew you'd be awake too, considering all the food you ate."
You gasped, "What, were you watching me eat?"
"Nothing that creepy, but it's kinda hard not to notice when people go back for their fourth serving. Can I come in?" he said nonchalantly.
You blushed, embarrassed, "What, so you can embarrass me more?"
"Would I do that?" he said with a wink and you crossed your arms. He chuckled and added, "I don't know about you but I'd rather not be questioned by Seteth if he just happens to walk by."
"Seteth sleeps too, you know." you argued, but still moved to let him in.
Claude quickly made himself at home, sitting comfortably on the edge of the bed. You rolled your eyes and sat next to him.
"What is it?" you asked grumpily.
"Well that's not very hospitable." he said teasingly.
"If you wanted hospitality, you came at the wrong time."
"Let's get to the point then. I have a theory."
"What theory?" you asked leaning your head on Claude's shoulder, feeling too tired to keep your head up.
"That there may be more to your past than you're letting on."
You flinched, but answered slowly, "That's ridiculous."
"Maybe so, but hear me out. What if, for reasons unknown, a king had a hidden child? A lot of strife would surely follow said child, unless someone made sure they grew up far away from where the political turmoil could reach them. No one would know the truth except the parents, but of course nothing stays hidden forever. And it took quite a bit of asking around for me to come up with this, but... Y/N?"
You wanted to listen to Claude, you really did; if only to keep him from the truth. However, it seemed his presence and voice were soothing enough that, when coupled with your exhaustion, they lulled you to sleep.
.
Claude stared down at your tired face with a smile.
He carefully picked you up and set you down on the bed in a more comfortable position.
He walked out quietly and as he closed the door he looked back once more, whispering with a smile, "Goodnight, Princess."

I'm back!! Things happened and well I couldn't write for a while. But hopefully I'll be able to more frequently from now on.
And for anyone who requested anything, I'm going to get through the stories that I've started and then I'll work on those oneshots. I think that's best to avoid any confusion.
