You always woke up with nightmares of nights long past.
Your discolored hair glistened in the moon light.
Nearly white hair that was a product of turning your once minor crest of Seiros into a major crest of Seiros.
The experiment was meant to give you a second crest. But it failed. And with the failure of that experiment, you were also deemed a failure by those dastardly mages. You were abandoned as they moved on to focus on your siblings. Abandoned to sleep unendingly.
You spent many years asleep, plagued by nightmares.
When you woke up, all that you feared had come to pass.
Your siblings were gone, your family broken.
You remember when you woke up. Your younger sister was by your bedside. No longer a child, but a beautiful young woman.
Her hair was as white as yours. You could see the pain she had endured reflected in her lilac eyes.
But El had always been so strong.
"Y/N?"
"I'm here, El." You kept your gaze fixed on the stars.
"Couldn't sleep?" she asked as she joined your side on the balcony.
You smiled softly. "I am used to it by now. Besides. I think I have spent enough time sleeping to last me a lifetime."
"Still, you need to rest.". She sounded worried. You smiled at her.
"I believe that the future emperor would require more rest then her lowly sister." you joked. You had long since decided to abdicate the throne to your sister. She had a vision and the strength to see it through. You believed in her.
"I know you think you are funny, but it really isn't working, N/N."
"Oh, El, you need to learn how to relax. It will not do you well to always be so worried." you looked at her with kind eyes. For a second she looked like the small girl you once knew.
"Can you blame me? On top of everything I need to deal with, I have to make sure my sister does not do anything too reckless."
"Your faith in me is incredibly reassuring." You joked
She sighed. "You know what I mean."
Your smile faltered, "I know."
You both stayed silent for a while.
You thought about your situation, and came to a conclusion, "All the more reason to live while I can, right?"
El was losing her patience, "Don't say that. I promise you I will find a way to--"
"I do not want you to worry yourself with that, El. I've told you." You were serious. El, was visibly distraught.
"But," you added, "I have no plans on leaving you anytime soon, my darling little sister."
And for the first time tonight she smiled, "You need to stop calling me that, you're only older by 5 months. That's barely enough to call me little." You had different mothers.
"There's that smile I've missed, you really ought to wear it more often. It suits you..." You smiled mischievously, "I believe the professor would agree."
El blushed profusely, "W-what?" however she regained herself quickly enough. "N/N, that is not funny."
"Really, cause I find it hilarious." You laughed.
"Maybe you should show your laugh to Ferdinand. I'm sure he'd find it charming." She said smugly.
"E-El!" The tables had turned. "Alright, let's change the subject."
"Agreed."
"I have noticed you seem more comfortable amongst the other students than you did at the beginning of the year. I am glad."
"And I noticed you seem more at peace here than you did at home." She seemed glad, but slightly worried.
"I do."
"What will you do when... When things change."
You smiled at your sister, "We will deal with that when the time comes."
She smiled back, "Together, right?"
"Together"

This one was shorter. TwT But I don't think it would have been better if it dragged on for the sake of length.
