Takes place after "You would know".
.
Life was a complete mess.
Garreg Mach had Fallen. The Professor went missing. Dimitri was supposedly executed. And after being identified by the Empire as a threat to their control, you, the former future queen of Faerghus, were locked in your house were you could be kept safe by your father and brother.
That is until you had had enough and ran away. Besides you had something to do. You heard the rumors of a savage man ripping apart troops with his bare hands.
He was alive.
And so you followed his trail all the way to the Monastery, where you were met with your old classmates. Even the professor was here.
Your brother was also here, but he didn't seem to want to speak to you. That didn't surprise you.
But you had come here looking for someone specific.
And there he stood. Bags under his visible eye, dried blood in his hair. He'd lost one of his eyes and that seemed to be the only wound he actually treated.
He looked horrible.
And you told him just that.
Yes, after 5 years, that was the first thing that came out of your mouth.
"Go away." he growled through gritted teeth.
He truly looked like a savage animal.
"No."
He turned to look at you. He had grown taller, you hadn't. You didn't care.
"Go away or--"
"Or what, Your Highness?! You'll kill me? Huh? Is that it?!" you almost sounded as deranged as he looked. "Trust me, I'd welcome a way out of these wonderful times!"
He didn't react. Nothing at all. The Dimitri you knew would have never stayed quiet if he had heard you say anything like that. And he had. After Glenn had died it was all you could think sometimes.
"So that's it then?" you scoffed. "Fine."
You walked out of the cathedral and on the bridge you spotted someone else you felt like yelling at.
"Hey, Hugo!"
"I don't speak to people like you."
You stopped infront of the slightly taller man, "Like me?"
"People who abandon their families."
"What was I to do, Felix? You wouldn't let me leave! I was going insane!"
"We were trying to protect you!"
It was all too much. Nothing made sense. Your brain was a mess and your head hurt. It was all just too much.
Dimitri, your family, this war... What were you supposed to do? You felt so alone.
You fell to your knees on the stone beneath you. For the first time in a long time tears streamed down your face. You cried inconsolably, your entire body shaking.
.
Felix didn't know what to do. He'd never seen you act like this before. When Glenn died you cried, but not like this.
You looked... broken.
And it hurt him.
It hurt more than any battle wound ever had before.
He didn't know what to do. Your family wasn't exactly known for being tactful when it came to emotions.
Felix awkwardly knelt down and wrapped his arms around you, patting your back in an unsure manner.
This was really weird.
.
It only took a few minutes of Felix's clumsy attempt at comfort for your tears to turn into laughter.
"You're so bad at this!" you laughed.
Felix moved back and glared at you, "Well at least I'm trying!"
He was about to stand up and leave, but you caught his wrist in time, "Wait! I'm sorry, it's just... Thank you, big brother."
Felix averted his gaze with a scowl, "Yeah, whatever... You're welcome, I guess."
