You were in the library hunting down some books that were actually interesting. Of course your "brother" was to thank for the library's lack of more diverse topics. I mean, there were some good reads here and there, but they were never exactly what you were looking for. You knew half of the things in these books should be taken with a grain of salt. After all, you had lived them.
You found a book you hadn't seen before and plucked it out of the shelf. You sat down at the nearest table and began to read.
What is known about Saint Celestine.
Well this would be something.
Saint Celestine was Saint Cethlean's younger sister and Saint Cichol's youngest daughter."
I already know that. Obviously.
The battle in which Saint Seiros...

She fought bravely, striking down enemies with her axe from upon her trusted wyvern and she healed whoever she could with her limited knowledge of white magic.
Ok, but what happened after...
After the battle, she disappeared along side her father and sister, the latter of which had fallen into a deep sleep.
"Wait?" You said "Is that it?!" You flipped through the pages once more, but still all you could see was: She was never seen again.
You threw your hands up, "Stupid book! Why did I think it would have answers!" You looked down resigned, you spoke softly, "They never do..."
"Hmph!" You childishly set your head down on the table.
"You know. I would appreciate it if you sulked less loudly." said a voice right in front of you.
You looked up and we're met with very sleepy green eyes.
"If I am annoying you, why are you sitting with me?"
Linhardt yawned softly, "Well I was trying to sleep. But now I've woken up and I'm curious about that book you have."
"You want to know about Saint Celestine?" You quirked an eyebrow.
"As a Crest Scholar I find the mystery of the Crest of Celestine quite intriguing."
"Mystery?" You asked, genuinely curious.
"The only known person to bare her crest was slain before he could have any descendants. And it is a mystery were he got the Crest to begin with, since Celestine was said to have never married."
You knew more about the Crest and story in question than you cared to let on.
"It is true she is unmarried. Um-- Was unmarried." Were you becoming your sister?
"You speak as if you have conclusive evidence." Linhardt asked interested.
"N-no! I have just read many books about her is all."
"Hmm." Linhardt seemed lost in thought. After a moment he spoke up. "Can I ask you something?"
You were skeptical, "Of course..."
"Like I had mentioned, the Crest of Saint Celestine has been apparently lost to time, but you seem to have it's traits."
It wasn't really a question but you knew what he was implying. "If you're suggesting that I have her Crest you are gravely mistaken." You answered without missing a beat.
Linhardt might not have been convince, but you weren't sure. He was always so hard to read. "If you say so." He yawned "But I do believe there's still potential for research here."
Before you could stop him, he continued.
"If you read about Celestine you must have noticed the similarities between the both of you."
"Those are just coincidences. Many people share similar traits."
"Even so, an affinity for axes, an accomplished wyvern rider and about the same amount of magical prowess. And that's not even accounting for the similarities in your personalities."
You stayed silent. You had no way to argue without making it obvious that you were hiding something.
"Celestine was known to have a love of books, a distaste for 'wasting' the the days sleeping, a fiery temper, yet the maturity to keep said temper under wraps. It's recorded that it took a lot get her to truly bare her emotions. She also appears to have been something of an introvert."
"Okay... But what does any of that have to do with me?" You hoped you could throw him off. Linhardt was getting too close for comfort.
"To be honest, I don't really know. Apart from seeing you in the library a few times, I have no clue what you're like."
You rolled your eye, "That is to be expected, we are hardly friends. I do not believe we have even had a full conversation before today."
"True. It would naturally be more difficult if I were to continue my research without having access to my main research subject." Linhardt seemed lost in thought again.
"You know, it is very uncomfortable to be referred to as a 'research subject'." But Linhart seemed unfazed.
"Well then,"Linhardt said when he finished pondering, "The only logical course of action would be to become friends with you in order to confirm my hypothesis."
Linhardt said that as if it was a completely normal thing to say.
"Hey, wait!" You stood up abruptly, "I am not becoming friends with someone who's only intention is to study me."
"Well, that's not my only intention. I wouldn't spend so much energy on a friendship if I only intended it to be temporary."
You scoffed incredulously.
"But of course if you disagree I could always observe you from afar... Of course that would be rather bothersome." He said that last part to himself.
"No, no! That is completely unnecessary... Let us be friends." You said resigned.
Linhardt smiled, "Then it is agreed." Then he yawned. "But let's continue this later, I am exhausted." He stood up. "I'm off to take a nap."
You stared at him as he left and slowly sat back down.
What had you gotten yourself into.
Your brother would certainly not be pleased.
