This continues the story of "You were my best friend" and "You are a jerk".
.
It had been two weeks after your wonderful experience at the stables. You decided not to avoid Sylvain, But heck if you would acknowledge his existence.
He also didn't seem in the mood to chat with you, which came at no surprise.
You really just wanted to forget he even existed.
Ingrid told you this wasn't healthy.
Leonie offered to beat him up for you.
Unfortunately the three of you were together when this happened and both girls suddenly got into a long talk about the best way to handle the skirt-chaser you were attempting to forget.
They seemed to agree that screaming at him and violence wouldn't work; confusingly enough that was the only direction the seemed to be leaning in.
They weren't very helpful in the end.
Today you and the rest of the Blue Lions would be heading out on a training mission to take out some bandits. Child's play, really.
The Professor had enough sense to keep you and Sylvain far away from each other in the field, not wanting the inevitable distraction this would cause to end one of your lives prematurely. Either that or the Professor was afraid that you would end Sylvain's life prematurely.
It was all the same to you.
The battle started fairly well. Your class was greatly outnumbered, but the enemy was clearly outmatched.
The problem started when their reinforcements kept coming. You and everyone else seemed worried.
If things didn't end soon you would all be in trouble.
You dodged a wave of incoming arrows and you decided to let your horse run back to safety while you fought from the ground. No way was she getting hurt in this caos. You would never forgive yourself if she did.
As you fought attacker after attacker, something caught your eye. It was kinda hard not to spot flaming red hair zooming past.
Sylvain's focus was entirely on the mages in front of him. But he was completely unaware of the sword wielding thieves sneaking up on him.
You were about to call to him, but you realized that might just lead to a worse outcome.
So you rushed forward to defend against the enemies yourself.
But you had left your trusted partner behind, so your speed suffered greatly. You managed to defeat one enemy but the other took the delay in your steps as a chance to plunge his blade into your side.
Sylvain finished with the mages just in time to see you disposing of the final thief. As he saw you stumble his eyes lowered to your bloodied hands that kept pressure on your wound.
Without thinking he leapt off his horse and ran to keep you steady.
He held your arms and you looked at him, clearly in pain.
"I'm fine." you said stubbornly as you tried to stop the blood.
"You call this fine?"
"I can- keep ..." But you trailed off as you fell back.
Having lost too much blood, you fainted in his arms.
.
Back at the monastery you were taken to the infirmary where Manuela quickly sealed your wound and, after a thorough inspection, concluded you would survive. She did, however, state that you had lost so much blood there was no telling when you would awake.
