Sorry that this story is so sad, btw...

When you were little, your sister and you had been taken by your Uncle to seek refuge in the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus. The Adrestian Empire was currently unsafe for any of the Imperial Family. Or so you were told.

So in Faerghus you stayed with your older sister Edelgard. Your Uncle was not around much, claiming he had business to attend to. Given this, it was mostly just you and your sister alone in this unfamiliar, bitterly cold place.

The unforgiving cold weather affected you much more than it did your sister. Your health was much weaker than hers. The healers never quite understood why. You were simply always getting sick. Many were convinced you would not make it past your first year. But here you were. 7 years old and freezing in the snow.

El, how you tended to call your sister, had dragged you outside, claiming that you needed fresh air or you'd risk catching a cough. That was an obvious lie. It was snowing and your boots were already soaked due to the meter of snow that had gathered on the ground. You'd definitely be better off inside where at least you could pretend to be warm.

But you didn't complain too much, you were all but going mad being stuck in there alone.

On your walk you ran into a young boy who seemed to be training with a wooden lance. He had shoulder-length blonde hair and you could have almost mistaken him for a girl, had you been further away.

El, seemed ecstatic to see someone new to boss around-- er, spend time with.

"Hello." she greeted politely, you stood a bit behind her, still holding her hand.

The boy seemed to have only just noticed people had approached. He smiled and set down his lance. As he extended his hand to your sister, he spoke, "Hello. I'm Dimitri. I didn't expect to find anyone else around here."

El shook his hand with a smile of her own, "I'm Edelgard, but you can just call me El. This," she said gesturing to you, "is my little sister Y/N. She's a bit shy."

Dimitri extended his hand to you and you took it, "It's very nice to meet you both."

"I-It's nice to meet you, t-too." you answered, shivering, "O-oh! And you can c-call me N/N."

"You seem to be freezing!" the boy said with worry.

"I-It's fine. I guess I just didn't dress w-warmly enough."

"Oh no, N/N. You should have told me. We could have gone back." El said with a frown.

"But you s-seemed so excited to get out. I-I didn't want to ruin it." you answered with a weak smile.

Dimitri, smiled at your exchange and shrugged off his coat, which seemed to hide many more layers of clothing. "Here, put this on. It's really warm, so it should help."
