Jin woke up with a grunt, feeling the wind knocked out of him by something landing on his stomach. He blindly reached over to his nightstand for his glasses, sliding them on his face before opening his eyes. Once they were finally open, his vision focused on Jungkook smiling down at him as he sat on his stomach. "Time to wake up~" The toddler exclaimed, patting Jin's face as he did so.

Jin glanced at his phone, seeing that it wasn't even 5:30 yet, before looking back at the 2-year-old. "Kookie, you should still be sleeping right now." Jin wrapped his arms around Jungkook and pulled him down so he was lying on his chest, hoping to get those last few minutes of sleep before his alarm went off.

"I caaaaan't~" Jungkook squirmed against Jin's hold.

"You caaaaan't?" Jin mimicked the toddler's whine before deciding to finally sit up. He loosened his hold on Jungkook just enough to see his face. "I guess we might as well start the day early."

Jungkook smiled brightly as he slid off the bed, waiting patiently for his caregiver to get up too before skipping out of the room. When they got to the kitchen, Jin went straight for the coffee maker while Jungkook waited quietly...a little too quietly. Once Jin had his coffee in hand, he turned to see the two-year-old staring up at the refrigerator. "Whatcha lookin' at, Kookie?"

Jungkook pointed to the chart hanging on the fridge and said, "Wanna do a chore~"

After Jin finally got to adopt Yoongi and Hoseok, he had decided it was time to assign certain chores to the two oldest. He started off by offering an allowance for things the boys already did, like picking up their toys themselves, clearing away their own dishes after meals, and taking their dirty clothes to the laundry room, and when they got their dogs as adoption gifts, Jin had expanded the chores to include taking the dogs outside for bathroom breaks and filling their food bowls up in the morning, so that Jin wasn't taking over all of the responsibilities of a pet owner. The allowance system was that every time they performed a task, Jin would mark it. At the end of the week, Jin would total up all that they had done and equate it to a dollar amount. They could choose to either build on to their earned money through the following weeks, or they could cash in some of that money during their weekly shopping trip for a toy. They earned extra money if they were able to complete a task without being prompted by Jin. After Hoseok used his first earnings from chores to get a small Lego set, Jimin and Taehyung had begged Jin to let them have chores too, and with seeing his older brothers helping around the house, of course Jungkook wanted to do so too.

"Okay, let's see what chore Kookie can do today~" Jin made a show of looking over the chore chart, even though the toddler only had three tasks listed under his name as opposed to his older brothers who had more tasks that they could complete. "Why don't we go make your bed, okay?" Jungkook clapped and nodded excitedly before running off to his room, Jin following after him while sipping his coffee.

Once they were in the two-year old's room, Jungkook was quick to drag his pillow off the bed and onto the floor. He then tugged at the blanket until it was covering the mattress, ignoring how it was bunched up and not smooth as he picked his pillow back up and set it on top of his bed in the middle. "I did it!" He announced proudly, slightly puffing his chest as he looked up at his caregiver.
