Jungkook's First Words

Request:
"I really want to see little drabbles from when they boys were little. Just some good quality family moments."

"i really like this series, but i don't recall reading about Jungkook's first words, how about a drabble for that?"

"I was wondering if you were going to do anymore drabbles with the OG family when they were all younger because I love baby kookoo sooo much!"

Notes:
We're taking it way back with this one. Jimin hadn't been placed with Seokjin yet.

Jungkook babbled at Taehyung as he ran around the infant's room, checking out all of Jungkook's toys as Seokjin got him ready for the day. Taehyung had only been at the house for a couple of weeks, but had already transitioned extremely well, finding excitement in every aspect of the new environment, even tiny cracks in the paint from various moments where Yoongi, Hoseok, or Jungkook had hit a toy against the wall while playing.

"Okay, Kookie, let's get you dressed~" Jin said as he stepped back from the baby's dresser and sat down on the floor in front of him. "It's gonna be really hot today." Jin stripped Jungkook of his pajamas and diaper, at which point Taehyung abandoned his quest to play with every single one of Jungkook's toys to come watch, being in his curious phase.

Jungkook pointed at the toddler peeking over Jin's shoulder and started babbling. "Yeah, that's Tae Tae~" Jungkook then patted at his chest and babbled some more. "And you're Kookie~" Jungkook giggled and babbled some more, now pointing at his caregiver as he finished changing his diaper. "I'm Jinnie~"

As Jin moved Jungkook to be able to put him in his clothes for the day, Jungkook continued to babble, but one word seemed to stand out and caused the 22-year-old to freeze for a second. "Din~"

"Din?" Jin asked, and Jungkook pointed at him again.

"Din!" The infant exclaimed, followed by a string of babbles.

Jin was barely able to contain his excitement as he picked Jungkook up and pressed a kiss to his cheek. "That's right! I'm Din!"

"No, fjfjkjdkf you're Jinnie!" Taehyung said adamantly. Jin shushed him then quickly explained that Jungkook was too little to say his name properly, so 'Din' worked the same.

After getting Hoseok and Yoongi up for the day, Jin shared the news with them, and they were quick to congratulate 'their' baby too. As they went through their morning routine, dropping Yoongi off at school, then arriving at the center, Jin told everyone he encountered how Jungkook had said his first word, and that his first word just so happened to be his name. He even called his mother to share the news.

Before getting completely settled with Jana and the rest of his class, Jin walked over to the infant area to drop Jungkook off for the day. "Be careful, Jungkook's talking now~" Jin playfully warned the morning worker in the infant room as he handed Jungkook to her.

"Oh, really?" She asked in response.

Jin nodded and looked at Jungkook. "Kookie, who am I?" He asked, even tapping his chest to emphasize the question.

"Din!" Jungkook practically yelled, pointing at his caregiver.

"Aww, yay, Kookie!" The part timer looked up at Jin. "I bet you're feeling really happy about that."

"Well, duh~" Jin laughed out, looking back down at Jungkook. "I'll see you later, Kookie~" He pressed a kiss to the infant's nose before waving bye bye. Jungkook held up his hand but didn't move it, his current way of saying bye to someone, and gave another call of 'Din' as his teacher carried him off.
