"Mom, I already told you that I'm not going." Sammie said as she attempted to wrestle Jason into his clothes for the day. The two-year-old was currently more interested in running away from his mother than getting dressed to go to school. Sophia stayed in the doorway of her oldest daughter's bedroom, waiting for when she could have Sammie's attention. She had to hold in a laugh as Jason kicked away from the shorts Sammie was trying to put on him for the fifth time that morning. "Jason," Sammie spoke as calmly as she could, considering how frustrated she was over running late, at this point she wasn't sure if she could make it to her abnormal psychology class on time, as she finally got her son to be still long enough to talk to him. "Mommy really has to get to class, so I need you to calm down and let me get you dressed so you can go play with Grandpa Jin and Miss Marissa."

"Okay!" The toddler clapped his hands at the thought of playing with his teacher and great-grandfather. He finally stepped into the shorts his mom was holding out and put his arms through the sleeves of his shirt as she pulled it over his head.

"Go get your shoes~" Sammie nudged him in the direction of his shoe basket so he could pick out what pair he wanted before looking at her mom again. "The answer is still no."

"Come on, Sammie! It's girls' night!" Sophia exclaimed. "You used to cry and beg to come along!"

"Yeah, when I was five." Sammie deadpanned, smiling at Jason and squeezing his hand when he returned with his chosen shoes. The toddler sat on the floor in front of her so she could put them on. "Plus, I thought girls' night was mothers only, plus Aunt Amelia. That's what you always told me."

Sophia rolled her eyes at her daughter. "In case you've forgotten, you're a mother too-"

"Yeah, haven't really forgotten that-"

"-meaning you are allowed to join in." Sammie didn't respond. "Come on, it'll be fun! Where else can you go where you'll be able to get free drinks even though you're underage?"

"Grandpas' house."

Sophia was now getting frustrated with the 19-year-old. "Okay, in the past you have had reasons not to come, but you literally have none now. Jason will be at his dad's this weekend, and the school year literally just started so you don't have any huge assignments or exams."

"I'm going over to Max's to study on Saturday, and yes just studying." Sammie could tell that her mother was about to imply that more than just studying would be going on so she wanted to shut her down before she could.
